I think I already have. Only hope is that this weekend was the first time I’ve seen him proactively make changes before it was too late.
If he sticks he’s his own worst enemy, if he changes it then it just highlights the transfer window, recruitment and tactical change for the clusterthing it appears to have been

Gaz I respect your views, I’m not happy with this crap but your blaming the wrong person. Rupp didn’t say let’s go 5 at the back and bore everyone to death. Just pointing out that there are some right villains out there owning football clubs. I certainly am not one of those people who say because we have been a lower league club in our past we should accept that. Indeed I was arguing with someone on Facebook at the weekend who had that view. I pointed out we spent 13 years from 1985 till 2004 in the top two divisions and financial meltdown in 2002 changed all that. You’ve got totally the wrong impression of me,I am certainly not a happy clapper but nor will I slag of Ryan Sparks who has made management choices most agreed with at the time but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

70% of responses don’t trust their judgement. Your only arguments is well if you can do better. It’s an argument not really worthy of an answer because how can I influence any outcome. What I will be doing is every fans forum or opportunity to ask the questions to the club I will. Also messaging people who have a platform (Woap) to conduct analysis and coverage on what is a disaster regime to try and get people within the club to wake up.

I will also be joining in around February time when Rupp out chants get louder.

It’s all about opinions. So when Rupp takes you up on your advice then what,? Care to share your wisdom? Don’t forget start a petition, buy a flag , donate 50p to the fighting fund for the new ( imaginary) owner.
I take it you won’t be buying into what is a private business , just shouting from the sidelines I expect?
Whilst everyone wants an owner with a boat load of disposable income actually willing to use it , YOU are stuck with Rupp my friend like it or not. All the shouting in the world won’t change that.

I know all I'm saying that the club and the fanbase should want a lot better than what's happening. In all honesty I actually do feel sorry for Sparks like you said he cannot be blamed for what's happening with Hughes and in all honest should Rupp suddenly step up and give us a decent budget would you actually trust Hughes to get it right ??
I do know there are some right villains out there but there a hell of a lot more that seem to get it right with a lot less money than we have

The football club is a private enterprise I get that, but it’s also a community asset and absolutely nothing without fans. I don’t want him to pump millions in aimlessly I want him to create a proper foundation and infrastructure. I want him to invest in his business, ultimately he will seek dividends if we move up the leagues. Or if he can’t do that look for support or sell up, what is he getting out this current set up other than sections of this fan base myself included becoming angry around how he is running the show and has been for 8 years.

The budget we have without any input from Rupp should be more than adequate to put together a promotion winning side at this level. The budget is not the issue, it is how it is being spent that's the problem, and that's why I'm not surprised Rupp seems reluctant to put his hand in his pocket (although there really shouldn't be any need for him to do so if we had a competent recruitment strategy).

Agree that I don’t trust who and how it’s been spent. However I do think it’s a problem the budget amount. I think given the crowds, pressure and other factors you need at this level the best in class to be play for this club. What we do is have a couple of marquees signing and the rest fillers.

We need 18 quality players with a strong mindset, that will cost more than we are willing to pay.

Hence why we have Ridehalgh, Taylor, Osadebe as examples and the loans which will be cheap gambles.

Wrexham, Notts County, MK , Gillingham pay more and will get the best in class. We don’t and we need it at this level due to the environment.

I haven't been since Morcambe but I've decided to go on Saturday. Hopefully it won't be a fleeting return!

To be fair, this leadership has appointed - and continues to appoint - a manager who has managed to secure the 7th highest points total in the clubs history since 3 points for a win was introduced.

    A resounding no.

Rupp knows absolutely nothing about football and Sparks hasn't made a single correct footballing decision since he was made CEO and nobody can argue otherwise.

I'm not sure that is worth trumpeting. With the squad he had we should have been aiming for the 2nd or 3rd highest at the very least.

I find it a very interesting stat. There are many before who have been given very competitive budgets and got nowhere near that points total - relegation season (2018/19) and Adams (2021/22) being more recent examples.

It certainly doesn't excuse some of Hughes flaws, but it does put into perspective what he achieved in his first full season. Football is a results based business after all and he generally got more right than wrong - just got it wrong at very critical moments sadly.

I do however find it difficult to go along with the, "he should have achieved better with the squad he had." Yes, it was a decent team on paper, and that's exactly what it proved to be. However, League 2 is the bedding ground for new and emerging talent - as well as other very competitive squads. There are so many unknowns in the league whose quality becomes apparent once the season is well and truly established.

He's not helping himself with current tactics and obviously the season comes off the back of huge disappointment from how last season ended. He has much to do to gain the level of trust he may have once had.

Take your points, but I'm convinced if Robbie Wellens had that squad or budget we would have been promoted and he took over at Leyton Orient at roughly the same time as Hughes joined us.

Did Orient, Stevenage, Notts County and Carlisle have budgets massively bigger than ours last season and did they all have players that were 'the best in class'?

What do Notts County have to do with anything?

We're at a slight disadvantage against Carlisle, since if we even so much as draw with them our fans consistently lose their minds and demand a complete overhaul of everything ever, whereas if we beat them, Carlisle just take it on the chin.

No but they probably spent it in the right areas not throwing 3 year contracts at players and then realising they ain't up to during into a negative shit set up
