Digital Advertising at VP (Now with Poll)

Yes, it was difficult at times. Not as bad as the Morecambe game but still too bright when the ads with white backgrounds came up. I lost sight of the ball completely during a couple of our corners second half.

 

Maybe they should turn the brightness back up?

 

I thought it was fine on Saturday but a bit too bright tonight, especially with the ads that were solid white or pink.

 

That'll have been Smallwood's corners that hardly got off the ground!

 

Totally agree - better but still needs tweaking.
It was fine on Saturday in daylight hours but still a touch too bright tonight IMO (that is from my seat in the lower kop).

 

There’s the rest of the world of advertising thinking it’s for TV audiences….

 

To fully fix it you would need floodlights to Prem regs. There's no issues with those grounds that have sufficient lighting.

Alas, that won't happen here for a long time. If ever.

 

How about the fans funding some new floodlights.
No chance! We would probably only raise enough for a new bulb in one of the pylon's

Again the electronic advertising was a massive problem again last night and it was impossible to see the ball from the kop in the second half when it was at the far end.

I’ve seen a few comments in the Plymouth match thread and also on X.

I’ve emailed the club and it will be interesting to see what they say. It’s ruining the spectacle.

 

The club were going to upgrade this year to new LEF lighting, but for some reason it was cancelled
We have to do it by 2027 I believe

 

I did not notice the boards until later in the second half. At that point they were certainly obscuring my view of play and back to the level of brightness where the club acknowledged there was a problem before, and turned them down.

 

Im in the kop and don't really notice them at all.
Were crap when first Installed but are generally fine now. Not heard any complaints from them around us.

 

They weren't generally fine on Tuesday night. I pay to watch a football match, not to be blinded by advertising board. If I can't see the action in the final third of the field I might as well not bother going.

I didnt say your opinion or anyone else's was wrong I just said for me its fine and I hardly notice them.
Perhaps its because Im in the Top tier of the kop In the corner.
I go with a decent sized group and all have agreed there's no issue where we sit.
I pay to watch football aswell and have a very good view where I sit

 

I also sit in upper kop and can’t see a bloody thing when it’s down that end. Others around me also say the same.
The problem is the floodlights aren’t bright enough.
And the funny thing is no matter how bright those adverts are I couldn’t even remember any of them. What a waste of advertisers money.

 

They are too bright from top tier of The Kop. I’ve emailed the club but never got an acknowledgment or response.

 

Hardly angry, just because your alright doesn't mean it's like that for everyone. There clearly is a problem for quite a few people as it's been mentioned on here and on social media. The people around us at the game also had a problem, a poster on here had the same problem viewing from the main stand. I'm guessing being higher up the angle incline helps.
Edit. Just seen the replies and it also affects folk higher up it seems.

 

It wouldn't be so bad if they were all round the ground like they have at Odsal but its just that bit by the away end. I'm like you, can't remember any advert on them.

i think the adds are for people watching on tv , not for the fans in valley parade .
