You want the owners to show ambition, you want the owners to get us promoted.....so why are you having aa pop because a plodder like Dieng is leaving? Bizarre behaviour.

I'm not. I'm not having a pop. I don't particularly think Dieng is a major loss - however I believe we obviously aren't offering much incentive for these players we wanted to keep to stick around.

I didn't mind Deing - as a utility/squad player. But it is pointless keeping him when we already have Wright, Vince, Reeves and we are apparently looking at Crooks. Devine and Hawkes are also in the mix as you get further down the pecking order.

I think it was a case of here is the offer - 'take it or leave it'.......I can't imagine we tried too hard to keep Dieng. If he signed, well it is another body and not a lot else.

So he was offered a contract but decided to leave. Standard for football. Maybe he thinks a new challenge is in order.

Can’t say I’m too bothered. It was either keep him as a squad player or not at all. He was never going to be a regular starter for us so I can understand why he probably didn’t want to stay or why we maybe didn’t offer him a great contract offer.

If Wright, Vince, Reeves, Crooks and Devine end up as our midfield options then ite mid table at best for me. Very uninspiring.

I think it is obvious we need 1-2 additions. Cutting out Dieng is a positive for me.

Doyle was a first team player that probably justified his wage. Your reasoning just doesn't make any sense.

I think the issue raised is broader than Dieng. If we don’t want players fine but if we offer basic terms then they are going to leave so why make the offer in the first place? Hoping that one takes it?

The best players command the best wages. It works on all levels. Moving on if we want the right blend of youth and good level experienced players we’d have to pay match our competitors. If we don’t won’t our recruitment of the experienced players always be a lower level than our competitors?

Didn't we get beat heavily at Bristol Rovers and put in an absolutely abject performance?

Which of our signings, on paper, looks streets ahead of Dieng and Law?

They all look a bit like squad players to me?

    Yes we should.

The reality is though that we won't.

What a ridiculous statement considering the signings we have made so far. We haven’t even made generic signings yet.

Again, how stupid do you sound with comments like that. Have you seen our signings so far?

Ive seen Dieng the the last 2 years - mediocre.

Not seen our new signings in action, just names on paper so will reserve any real judgement until the season is under way.

    I hope that is ok?

Of the names you mention the only one who played better than Dieng in midfield was Reeves and he is inconsistent. I can't vouch for Wright or Hawkes as i've not seen them play. I don't think Dieng is any worse than Crooks from what i've seen of him, maybe he plays better when i've not seen him. He's certainly better than Devine and Vincelot, so at least two new midfielders for my liking.

Is the new Head Coach even allowed ideas of his own?...
    ;)
