I thought Edin was the dead ball specialist....I'm sure he'll be able to make sure we're dandy in that department

TBF, I never mentioned scoring from them. But the ability to put the ball in a certain area for the players to attack is a fairly basic skill. Hell some players put penalties exactly where they want, even under pressure. Some can even hit the crossbar from the halfway line.

But we shouldn’t expect a professional footballer to be able to kick a dead ball accurately 30-35m?

Ok. And what does it explain? My leg length? I don’t have to duck under archways under 5ft10? I have to walk quicker than you those with a longer stride?

    Those kind of things?
    ;)

A bigger load of shite you would struggle to find.

Otherwise why wouldn't teams just select the smallest in the team to take every dead ball leaving the bigger lads to head it?

As an example I'll give you Ronaldo, Beckham and Zidane. All well over 6 foot and all very regular set piece takers both at club and international level.

I don’t think I said any of that...!

Firstly, I was set-piece taker because I was poor in the air but had some pace about me. I could take the corners and most of the in-direct free-kicks, but if the opponents countered, I was quick enough to get back to help defend.

Just because you are tall doesn’t mean you are good in the air. Did I say otherwise? I said I took the set-pieces and those better in the air would just attack them. I never mentioned their height, only mine.

I don’t think Ronaldo goes across to take the corners does he? He stays in the box because he’s very good in the air. Beckham was shite in the air, so naturally he took the corners.

Still a load of shite? Yeah, you’re bound to say yes because you itch for fight with me whenever you can

I don't want a fight with anyone, I'm just pulling up a post I thought was complete nonsense and I apologise if you are sensitive enough to think I'm targeting you.

Back to the free kick theory and the point of the thread though ..... not all footballers can take a good set piece. That's just fact, it's consistently proven season on season and isn't even worth debating so I'll bow out gracefully.
