Curtis Tilt

This is my concern. Even if the other 2 CB’s we sign are of good quality we’re still only a couple of injuries/suspensions away from relying on last seasons defence plus Tilt which doesn’t inspire a great deal of confidence. If we’re playing with 3 CB’s at least 4 of them need to be first-team ready and we’re going to end up with 2 at best.

Have I been in a coma and woke up on 1st April surely he must be back up or new kit man and for them to offer a 2 year deal but send Smallwood on his way are we back to being sustainable now and counting the pennies??

Since he's left footed, that would suggest him and Kelly (if he resigns) for left centre back.

We need a commanding central centre back because neither Byrne or Baldwin can do that.

Well, two further centre backs and three if Kelly doesn't sign assuming we have the same level of injuries as last year.

We had similar comments last season about the defence and the worries were unfounded

 

Mmmmm. Not sure about that one. If they got past him that was him done from what I remember.

 

It's like when we sign someone that everyone bigs up and he turns out crap.
We don't know anything until a ball is kicked and we see the players play together.

 

And in terms of that commanding CB, now we’ve signed the 33 year old Tilt, it might mean Pearson isn’t coming? That would be one very slow backline…..

 

I'm hoping this means Kelly has decided not to stay and Tilt is Kelly's replacement which would probably change my perspective on the signing.
