Squads taking shape nicely. Crooks would add steel. Three solid centre halves with nkp and Isherwood as back up. A winger, a striker. Doyle plus another keeper and crooks and I’ll be happy.

Despite all the anti edin crap I’m impressed with the age and variety of our recruiting

Leicester fans seem pretty complementary about the lad, I've never personally heard of him.

Well according to the bingley bantams - Sherwin Seedorf has agreed a loan move.

Don't you miss the days of journeyman loans like Wes Thomas and Chris Dagnall?

Still alot of work to do in midfield and up front and possibly a winger also still required

I'll tell you what I do like; the recruitment is at least showing ambition, even if we are signing a considerable number of untested, unknown players.

Leicester's Development Squad POTY, a former Man Utd U21 captain (or whatever), a keeper that was being tracked by West Brom - while it's disappointing to have seen so many people turn DOWN Bradford City, it might add a little weight to the idea that they are pushing the boat out for the players they ACTUALLY want.

While the experienced players coming in are very much League One players, that might suit the development policy a little better than by trying to mix higher-end players with younger players. Or maybe not - maybe they'd benefit more from more elite signings, but whatever, what we're getting is a reasonable mix of prospects with a bit of backstory and solid-looking signings.

A few more experienced signings that don't altogether take the piss and I'll be prepared to forego the obvious mistakes such a young squad will make.

I wonder if this will be the season the owners give us something to buy into?

Much more solid defence than last year which is key as we lost too many at home last year. Need another keeper (note hint from GA re competition), quality in central midfield, a good striker and one or two departures and we are nearly there !

    Still required...

    Goalkeeper - O'Donnell needs competition/back up

Right Back - Riley has that place nailed down but if he gets injured by running into a fence again then we have no back up apart from Hanson. McGowan or Chicksen could step in to that position though.

Centre Midfield - We have lost Dieng, Lund, Guy and Law who could occupy this role and only brought in Wright. Reeves is back from injury, Vincelot is still part of the squad but we need another one and we are linked with Matt Crooks. Maybe O'Donnell can help sway that one for us. Not sure if O'Connor an option here though or if he will be a CB.

Winger - Robinson, Seedorf and Gibson isn't enough. An experienced Winger would fit the bill.

Striker - Definitely need to bolster the attacking options - we definitely have the numbers but we lack quality. If Wyke stays, one more please. If he goes, then two more required.

We need an experienced attacking midfielder / playmaker to compete with Wright. We could bring in the best 2 strikers in the world but if we don't have that creative player in the middle of the park then they are wasted. Wright's spent most of his career as a defensive midfielder apart from the last few seasons and we can't rely on him solely.

Midfielders I'd be well happy if we got Crooks or Guy back, plus Grant on loan. I would also be pleased to get Rodman in as an experienced winger. Striker wise I'm really nervous we are going to just get another young prospect in rather than someone proven at this level but hope I'm wrong about that.

I would prefer Crooks personally. Which Grant is that???

I wouldn't have many complaints at Rodman, but would prefer someone a tad younger than 31 to occupy a wing position.

Rumours are we are signing that black German striker for £175k.

I don't think we will bring in another Right Back and I'm not sure we need one either. Assuming McGowan and O'Connor are our first choice CB pairing, if Riley was to ge injured McGowan can move to RB where he has played before with Kilgallon coming in at CB. The back 5 will then look something like this:

    -------------------O Donnel-------------------
    Wood -O'Connor- Kilgallon-McGowan

Not too bad, even with our first choice RB out. I'd rather use the budget elsewhere tbh.

If we play 3 at the back with wing backs then I do not see McGowan filling that role.

He's just a German striker. We know who you're talking about. No need to mention the colour of his skin. Would you have said white German striker? Just a bugbear of mine. No reason to refer to race in this instance.

Ok but it isn't racist to point our someones skin colour.

Need to see more of McGowan. I suppose whether we being in another RB depends on the system we want to employ and the type of player McGowan is. It does highlight how strong we are looking at the back when even with injuries we could still put out a solid defence. If it was between bringing in a reserve RB or using that money to bring in a quality CM or winger I know which one I'd be going for. We are short on quality in those areas.

I never even insinuated as such. But if you wouldn't have mentioned skin colour or race if they were the same as yours then why mention it if they're not.

Might be a case of looking for a loan to cover the RB position.

I also see O'Connor been used as that 3rd CB or DM role. Like Vincelot did many a time under McCall. I don't see Kilgallon starting on the bench - I think him and McGowan will be the first pairing at the start...

Jorge Grant from Forest. Still only a young lad at 23 but was on loan at Notts County last season and scored 16 from midfield with quite a few assists as well. Forest want to keep him but seem keen to send him out on loan again this season.
