Thanks for that insight. I find this the strongest affirmation yet that, as we all suspect, the powers that be are causing disharmony at all levels within the club

 

Agree with your sentiments Roger. Dave Baldwin was great at his job and James is more than an adequate replacement. I just hope the rumours of him leaving (and being replaced by Dolan) aren’t true.

Regarding my original comment, I hadn’t realised you had rejoined this site under your previous username. So when I referred to ‘Wetherby Whaler’, I was meaning the WUM that tried taking your username, and not you. Apologies

 

I really like James Mason, a solid guy who works his socks off for this club. I have never been able to understand the animosity directed towards him. I do hope he stays or that will certainly go down as yet another big mistakes, along with the sacking of McCall.

Loosing potential income Is extremely disappointing!

 

We didn't lose it Edin decided against it, something to do with his ego not liking someone else getting that deal.

 

This is the most genuinely worrying post I've read on here, or C & B.

A forum like this one is always full of rumour and speculation, and a lot of people have dismissed some of it because the source is often attention-seeking and self-interested. Still, it's been clear (except for a core of deniers) that there are serious problems that emanate from the owners. But I don't recall a post like the above with Roger Owen's name on it. He is as near to a credible source as we are ever going to get on a forum like ours.

Forget debates about playing budgets and developments squads. It sounds like something rotten is preventing the club behaving like a competent business. Basic stuff.

I did wonder if that was the overall reason for getting rid of McCall, he was too popular and he wanted to be the one that the fans were chanting his name!!

Mason has grown into the role and i wouldn't be surprised to see him in a similar role at another club in the future. I guess his emotional ties keep him at Valley Parade but sometimes its easier to do the role elsewhere where you haven't got the emotional element. Would be a loss if or when he does depart.

 

If he leaves I fear for our club and its outlook with Edin having a free role and no consciousness of how to run a club

 

Your quite right mate a bit of banter with regards #ticketgate James shoes ( I wouldn't wear them) was fine but some of the stuff being posted resently is not nessasary, as you say the guys trying to be King Canute with regards Edin at times, better we have someone on the inside like James than one of Edins yes men.

 

Hi all. Please can you enlighten me. I might have missed it but has something happened / been said to suggest that Mason's future is in doubt, other than what has just been revealed about Rahic undermining his work? Been away so haven't caught up on everything.

 

Nothing official, just rumours.

Nothing will be said officially until Mason leaves, if he leaves.

 

After a dodgy start with things such as 'ticketgate' i think the vast majority of fans are now fully behind Mason and what he tries to do in his role. Not everything he will do will come off but he has overseen two successful ticket campaigns and i'm not that sure this 'do you believe' rubbish is really his idea. I take the piss out of him as much as anyone but he's won me round. I don't think he will be short of an offer of a job after what he's done at Bradford.

 

I find it rather ironic when other fans have posted similar about losing sponsors and the likes, now someone who has his finger on the pulse everyone is getting worried.
Things come out of our club that the few who post them are far from happy with, they don't do it for a wind up they do it because they care about what is going on behind the scenes at Valley Parade.
This ship is going to take some turning around let's hope we are all pulling in the same direction and we get a decision sooner rather than later from Mr Grayson.

 

A great post Roger. I have spoken with James recently. Even tho he can’t say much about the club, I can tell by his body language all is not good. At the end of the day he is like us. A City fan through and through.
