2001 went to Cyprus for a friend's wedding.

The night we were returning home, the US decided to bomb Libya from Cyprus and so all airspace was closed.

We were delayed several hours just getting the transfer coach. So we got drunk. Cocktails, beer and wine drunk.

At the airport, one of my friends decided it would be best if she looked after our boarding cards. Sensible approach in theory, except she somehow lost them in the departure lounge. If we weren't delayed a further few hours we would have been refused entry into the plane.

To get the new boarding cards we had to go back to check-in and through security. They decided to look in my bag and when I closed it I managed to slice the end of my finger open. A remarkable amount of blood came out. There was no first aid, so I just had to keep my finger in the air with toilet paper wrapped around it and I got on the plane like an extra from Scarface.

Mrs H still not back from election duty. The dog is most confused at her absence.
