Looking at the two teams, honestly you would struggle to fit more than 3 England players in the Indian team. You'd have Root, Smith and probably Brook. Not sure even Duckett could dislodge their openers.

 

But, fair play to the selectors, they've spotted an absolute gem in Smith. He looks top quality.

 

Yep. Not sure who would keep but you'd probably have both Pant and Smith in.

Smith and Carse have done well and done it fairly easily. India seemingly distracted by the ball in the last 10 overs but it now looks like Carse is bored and wants to get himself out. Just needs to continue batting as he is.

Yes, I've been impressed with him this morning.

Just needs to bowl properly later and threaten the stumps more often than not.

It'll be a different proposition playing predominantly on the back foot in Australia, but he looks that he could be a very capable number 8 or 9. Having him and Atkinson in the team would be very handy.
