On paper we have a very decent squad so should be in a position to be able to make changes - keep the squad fit and fresh, keep the opposition thinking, keep the squad pushing each other for starting spots.

Keen to see more of Harratt and Oliver. Also knowing we have very decent options in Songo’o, Sutton, Hendrie, Foulds etc - hope this depth serves us well when we have further inevitable injuries as well as pushing for cup runs.

Sounds like Colchester wont be fielding many first choice players tonight. Cole Skuse, Alan Judge, Ossama Ashley, Chay Cooper, Emyr Huws, Tommy Smith and Gene Kennedy have all been sidelined.

In the managers pre game interview, Brown said: “You can’t really rotate the squad if there’s no-one to rotate the squad with. There’s five midfielders out injured at the minute, so there’s only a certain amount of personnel within the squad who can play in that position." Seemingly struggled on Saturday having to play a lad from the youth team and a number 10 in midfield against Stockport, only managed 27% possession and had just 2 shots all game, with 0 on target.

Yes, when I read the match report the manager said he wanted them to be solid and compact and make Stockport have to play around them to get crosses in which they hoped to be able to defend. Ultimately didn't work as they conceded a header.

Nailed on Hornby will have a blinder either way :joy:

Oh good news and bad news. It’s my first for a while, pandemics and all that.
The East Anglia massif will carry the flag for the Southern Clan.
    Let’s hope it’s a good night?

Last year I blocked everyone on Twitter who was saying this (we are the Bantams not the “chickens”), and I’m not impressed with Harry Lewis’s bad language on the club clips when kids are watching. Maybe I’m getting old!!!

There seems some evidence about the nickname The Bantams that it comes from the term for a chicken or a fighting *@?$. I believe the nickname comes from our founding in the Manningham barracks from a Bantam regiment, Bantam regiments were formed of shorter recruits and were described as short but hard fighting soldiers hence the name Bantam regiments,

Nice touch by the club, a free pint to celebrate getting 3 points.

I know it’s early in the season but tonight’s game is the sort of game we need 3 points from to validate our position of promotion contenders.

We are on a bit of a roll, morale seems high in the camp, Colchester seem decimated by injuries and haven’t won a game yet.

Too many times in the past we have failed to show up in these types of games, and before you know it our belief as fans starts to wane. Under Adams last year we had home games on the trot where you’d be expecting 6 points and we ended up with 1 and the season quickly fell apart.

3 points tonight is a must.

    Here you go.

‘The origins of the ‘bantams’ identity can thus be traced to November, 1908 and the timing at the end of the month came when Bradford City were adrift at the bottom of Division One with only one win out of 13 games. Introduced for the fixture with League leaders, Everton at Valley Parade the bantam identity proved totemic and inspired a recovery: a draw with Everton was followed by two successive victories at the beginning of December.’

Young said it also in one of this week’s videos. . It’s a bit of fun, and in reality it’s good to see a squad in high spirits as opposed to down in the dumps.

Its called having a laugh and building spirit. Its also tongue in cheek because a bantam is a chicken and who ever thought that would go down well? having a laugh at yourselves is the first way too beat any nay sayers. Thats how Millwall fans deal with it.

Personally think you are being a bit too uptight.
