    I'm currently stood in the kitchen, tickets in hand for today, weighing up whether it's going to be worth the effort after only returning from a full week away working in Cambridge yesterday afternoon.

    I've decided to sack it off.
    I've not seen my lady all week and it took 5 hours to get back from Cambridge yesterday so I can't be bothered to do that journey and the extra bit to Colchester just to be disappointed after last week's crap show.
    If we win I will be happy no matter what so it's a no brainer.
    I'm back down that way a week on Monday FFS.

    I will have a go at the prediction league on here. I have enough vices, and gambling isn’t one of them!;)

    Colchester’s form at home is W2 D2 L3

    City’s away form is W2 D2 L4

    Colchester haven’t won in the league since 21/9/2024 (against Tranmere).

    They usually score.

    They are 21st in the table for good reason.

    I think it will go down to who scores first. If City can do it, then you would think any confidence they have, will evaporate.

    Last week City had a statistically strong second half, but couldn’t pull back the goal deficit.

    If they can stop Cook, we are highly likely to fail to score. Can Cook start himself up and fire us into the lead?

    The dark pessimist in me can see a loss (they have to win at some time). The optimist can see a smash and grab 1-0 win. The MEH supporter in me thinks it could well be a soulless 0-0.

    I agree we appear to have the round pegs but I’m waiting until kick off to see if they’re going into round holes. Bobby at center half, Cookie at right back, the sort of thing we saw last week.
