The world cup has put a spanner in the works, thats why the season is starting in July this season.

It's difficult to move the season backwards as the play-offs are on a tight schedule as it is to get done prior to the spring bank holiday weekend.

If they got rid of the pizza cup, or kicked the U23s out and just had it as a lower league knock out tournament we might have more flexibility in the fixture list. 3 x group games no one wants should really have league games whilst the weather is good to allow fewer games in the part of the season where bad weather usually causes postponements.

Doncaster have currently sold 1,513 - 423 tickets still available.

As you would expect, tickets in the home sections are selling very well.

    Kop - 1,061 tickets available
Midland Road - 471 tickets available
Main Stand Lower - 230 ticket available

Plenty of availability in the Main Stand upper

In 2019, we started on the 3rd August (Cambridge at home). So a mere 4 days difference. Not a few weeks later. I chose 2019 as it was the last season pre Covid and there was the Euro’s in 2020.

Our last fixture is 6th May. If they put back the final fixture to the 13th then no reason why they couldn’t have the play off’s on 20th and 23rd and keep to the current final date of 29th May.

Agree with you about the Pizza Cup. Sudden death rather than group stage and get rid of the U21’s (they can have their own tournament).

Amazing that a team recently relegated are starting the season against a team that finished mid table and as of this morning are 3/1 to win. Huge odds but they've released a lot of experience and brought in mainly young lads apart from Tomlin who by all accounts seems completely past it. He's only started one game since October 2020! That was for Walsall last season having a brief spell in L2. Didn't impress anyone at Walsall and his weight and mobility were called out by the fans.

They dont look anything special on paper, Adam Clayton on set pieces with Miller or Andrews on as target men, seems they might be going a bit more route one. Hopefully a feel good home win. Cant find odds this morning on any player goal markets, but a George Miller anytime goal is going to be worth a few quid.

While hoping for a win I think Donny are slight favourite's and believe it will take a few games for HH to whittle the players down in to a team to win games

It had been 14,036 when the early deal finished. So as a guesstimate probably around 14,300 now. Apparently around 1,000 had not renewed from last season. Some will have moved away, or be unable to attend for health reasons and sadly some passed away.

I am going to guess a ‘gate’ of around 17,500.

That is why I used the term ‘gate’, rather than ‘attendance’. The usual practice is to include the three of you in the figures(seats sold), even if you are not there in person.
If you look at people in the stadium, then I would think around 15,000. I know of three others who can’t make it due to holiday/family commitments.
There are several on here who have said they are away.

Nearing 18,500 tickets sold already - that’s including 1,950 from Doncaster.
