    Dont recall anyone suggest chucking in a scrawny 18 year old against hairy arsed established back lines was a good idea at the time. . Perhaps the memory is playing tricks, it was 10 years ago.

    I'd argue the Blake we saw in October to December 1998 was light divisions ahead of the player we signed - regardless of his well known 'off field' antics.

    Agree. I think the club have been very savvy in signing players like Young on long term deals. For instance every time Young scores that's another £20K in the bank!! But we need do the same with Pointon.

    McBurnie came on as a sub for his debut away to Rotherham in the FA Cup, Wells was playing in that game too.

    I remember Wells being great from the minute he stepped on the pitch for us. Wasn't he smashing shots in on his debut?

    I'm not sure what your point is? Of course he improved over time but you said that the manager carefully and slowly introduced him in order to help his development. That simply wasn't the case.

    Yeah he came on for Wells, didn’t play with him as someone suggested.
    Wells can’t have played many more games for us after that due to his ‘tight hamstring’

    Bradford City 0-1 Rotherham Dec 26th 2013, Wells and McBurnie started upfront in the league. Rotherham CBs looked about a foot taller and wider than both and bullied us all game. Wells hamstring "injury" started the game after at home to Swindon.

    There is a little confusion here. Oli and Wells started the game together in Oli's league debut against Rotherham on Boxing Day. Oli was subbed in the 2nd half by Alan Connell. Wells stayed on. Oli did come on as sub to replace Wells in the earlier Cup game against Rotherham.
