Part of the Peterborough model is long deals and a very clear 'pay big or go home' policy. Yes they have let quality players leave for free. No, they don't feel they have to sell unless the offer is right.

It's completely stupid to say 'we have to sell'.

Much better to say 'we would sell if someone offered 3 million'. Which is what they do, but I get the feeling we're not that smart and won't sell based on an irresistible offer, but simply because we feel the need to 'cash in'.

Bad logic, bad business.

Don't agree to sell ANYONE before someone has made an offer you can't refuse.

It's nothing to do with lack of ambition, its the way football works. IF a club comes in for him its pretty much nailed on to be a championship club. Playing in that division offers a wage structure that we just cannot compete with. Therefore we have to squeeze every last drop out of the transfer. The lack of ambition comes when this money is not reinvested, I would hope that Rahic would earmark the transfer fee for team building.
