    Remember Carters and Subbuteo well. Obviously l had a City, I even painted the hair colour of some of the players to a brown to match the actual squad.
    Funny how times change, l built up quite a collection of teams in addition to City. I had neighbours L***s, and Udders. Also Liverpool, Spurs, Man City, Wolves and Celtic!
    Carters was a truly excellent shop.

    You guys were very lucky when I was a kid I had to make do with making my own toys from pegs but could never build them on a Monday as that was washing day and we didn't have enough pegs :(

    Used to get all our Star Wars figures from Carters, as well as Subbuteo and Airfix. Had the best selection of figures and always had the newest ones in first

    Got my Brownies uniform from Carters.
    Brother had a fab collection of Subbuteo and his first Scalextric but always eyed up the handguns on our rare visits to the store, in the 70s.
