Can you believe self proclaimed EFL expert Gab Sutton had a pop at him in his pre-season assessment of us saying he makes too many mistakes.

typical Gab, doesn’t watch enough of our actual games and tries to be a jack of all trades expert of every EFL club, but chats s**t.

Really enjoyed it tonight when we finally arrived after the train delays.

Super Sam Walker, take a bow.

Touray was class and my MOM. Whoever said he was too defensive and a safety first player (salford fan on here was it?)…..he’s just shattered that theory.

Happy to see Swan open his account. He made some great runs too.

    metcalfe looks exciting.

    hope Wright’s injury isn’t serious.

yes, Rovers made eight changes, but we did too. Only gripes were Humph missing that chance to put us 3-1 up, and our defence being cut open by the through balls to Gueye first half. We rode luck at times but overall a fantastic effort.

Great seeing players applauding fans at end and club putting out the dressing room team photo.

i’m getting ‘history maker’ vibes in terms of the team spirit this group has.

if we get a striker before window shuts we can start looking at top half, not being involved in a scrap at bottom end.

I enjoyed watching that, though it wouldn't be City without the obligatory moments of exasperation or worry. Early days, but if we keep playing as we have these first few matches, then I think we'll do alright this season.

104 years since our last (and only other) win at Blackburn. Can we please shorten that interval now?

Despite some not been overjoyed at the signing of Swan, he continues to impress. I said that he was better than Humphreys in pre-season and think he will turn out to be the bigger contributor. He's a shrewd buy imo. Get Metcalfe starting, that lad could fetch us 7 figures, help us get to the next level or both. But he needs to be playing.

I noticed Alexander and Tilt having a few words after the final whistle, looks like he's got abit of a attitude, all in all a great team performance, just a word on Metcalf, the lad is a Rolls Royce, his vision off the ball was a joy to watch, we've got a player there.

ATM I am putting Tilt’s “getting involved” as over exuberance within the team mentality. The team/squad togetherness is a sight to be hold and will get better. We do not want yellow cards stacking up.

A great team effort tonight, Touray, Walker and Swan were just fantastic.

I thought Baldwin got knocked down off the ball before the incident. Looked a red card to me and I think Tilt was reacting to that. Not ideal, but can't be bad for City to have a player who can front up to anyone.

I know it's unthinkable to suggest a city player might do something like this but it looked to me like Baldwin threw himself on the floor.

Tilt is definitely one of those players that will look to get involved in any argy bargy from anywhere on the pitch.

Most teams have a player like that.
Whilst it’s good that he will jump in and protect the younger, maybe less aggressive players,it’s only going to get him some disciplinary issues.

No qualms with his aggressive attitude but we have to be prepared for him to pick up some stupid bookings

That was Jamie Raynor and Gary Jones guessing based on some hand signals he was doing to the coaching staff when he came off. As they were sitting and watching us play from right to left in the first half I don't think they could see Wright's early injury where he had blood close to his eye because he was initially sitting with his back to that stand. It then re-occured later or the swelling got worse.

Agree to a point, but let the ref deal with it. Had the ref only had to speak to the Blackburn player, he may have sent him off, but instead he's dealing with a player not involved in the incident and both get a booking. He needs to temper his enthusiasm a little. Tilt has been a decent recruit so far, I just hope he can keep a lid on it from time to time.

Arthur Intellect says the Blackburn squad is worth and estimated £52 million compared to our paltry £400 k.
Just shows what even average championship clubs are forking out to compete in the competition. A bit scary really.
But to win away against a skillful outfit like Blackburn shows that GA is doing the right things for our club and we can look forward to some exciting times this season.

He stood out massively against us last season and I thought he was top draw last night. Very early days but he reminds me of when we first got Josh Cullen - difference is that he's ours!

I think Swan is pressing his case to start…and possibly making the manager think we don’t need to sign another striker?

He looked really good, fast, skillful and tricky. I do though think we need an out and out target man.. if that's Cook, all well and good but we do need cover IMO.

Tilt always looks angry, no matter the circumstances. However, no bad thing for me, we need somebody like that. I would imagine he will collect his fair share of bookings getting involved protecting his team mates

After a nights sleep and reflection, I think last night has to be the best city performance under Alexander, given the level of opposition
