Random question. Why does Walker have ‘S.Walker’ on his shirt instead of just his surname? I understand when we had Jamie Walker but there’s no need now?

Edit: Also, Tyreik just has ‘Wright’.

We also need to learn from that. Whilst we didn’t sit back as such, we stopped the high press on Saturday which cost us two points.
That’s being picky, but something we can improve on in future

He still played brilliantly last night despite having a block of some kind. In his interview he says it will come but enjoying his football and the team football.

First half last night Tyreik seemed totally lacking in confidence and his body language was poor - he didn't seem to make eye contact with anyone. But as the match progressed he seemed to come out of his shell a bit. Probably his best performance since his return. As for Halliday - he's set down a real challenge for Neufville

Walker has every right to have a S on his shirt.

It's 45% after costs including VAT, floodlighting, staff costs, away travel costs (up to £2,400), police etc so we probably won't make a make a lot. During the 12/13 season I can remember it was said that we didn't make a profit on the cup run until Arsenal due to the costs of the early rounds.

Exceptional performance last night - intensity, high energy and clinical finishing. Great to see ginger Cafu back on form.

Please be kind and give us a trip to Old Trafford next round.

Just a word on Powell. I know shouldn't really form an opinion from the short time he was on the pitch. But here goes anyway :grinning:. He showed some great touches, he's obviously a quality player, but didn't look like one for the high energy press.

We have been saying for many months that PeP type football has been on the wain yet I can’t believe some managers still think it’s the holy grail? Possession with purpose is a slight notch up , but possession just in the hope of finding an opportunity is absolutely mind numbing as you rightly allude to. The press if played properly is terrific for the supporter, yes it can be beaten , but it is sure difficult to play around it.

Two better examples cannot be found moreso than the Stockport game of two half’s . Stand off and good sides will tear teams to shreds , stand on their toes and they can’t cope. Narrowing it down to an individual player ….Jack Diamond ? He didn’t want to know in the second 45 and went missing for large parts , yet was outstanding in the first 45 because we allowed him to play?
Look at Wycombe, look at Peterborough to see how effective possession based play is for example in L1 , yet teams wanting to work with the press are finding it brings results .

Halliday had a great game last night but we need to remember that they are different players technically. Neufville is a fast speedy defender and Halliday is more old school.
That shows why Alexandra brought him to the club, as a different option to play depending on the situation, nothing to do with ability

Listen to the Stoke podcast post game on BBC sounds . They “ thought” they had squad strength in depth “Bradford proved otherwise, they were Very Good “ , “ We ( Stoke) have numbers but little quality outside the starting 11”

We didn’t stop it all together . It was a joy to watch , especially the goal, but we have to acknowledge that it can’t be done for 90 mins . This Sat/ Tues timetable must be gruelling for pressing sides .

He has been a relevation recently and works well with Lapslie and Swan, but my oh my what’s happened to his finishing ? That dive in the first half on Sat was embarrassing. In his first spell on loan he was a damn site more accurate with his shots ?
