Ridehalgh is vastly experienced with over 360 league appearances which doesn’t happen if they can’t play a bit. I think Kelleher was a strange one but he has done ok in the games I've seen but poor at Chesterfield apparently

 

He was poor in a first half, poor 11.
Even Cook and Eisa looked poor.
As has been said collectively they were all poor as a unit, individually he’d come in and do a sound job in a sound 11 I believe.

 

Hard to judge the lad with that starting 11 at Chesterfield, but I'm sure Adams had his reasons for making that selection.

 

I don't know the player but looks to me like a similar style to Cook, with numbers that might not be as strong. But if that's the system we're building then I trust the club's management more than in recent years to know what they're doing. Certainly seems to fit the masterplan.

Worth pointing out that whilst his stats aren't exceptional from last year, his conversion rates are about right on average so he isn't wasteful.



We must have been looking for someone who's willing to come in as backup and injury cover but that's a tough sell to someone who could be a starter at another club.

Looking forward to seeing the lad get some minutes, just hope it's not because Cook is injured!

I don’t understand the negativity some have come out with here. Ok, on paper he’s not a stop the bus signing however he has a decent amount of experience at a decent level, at a good age. Given recent seasons I ’d 100% much rather welcome Lavery rather than a untried and tested U’21 from Wolves etc etc as competition/back up to Cook.

Cook is probably one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment. We definitely need a player of similar stature who can push him but also be there as a back in case of injury. For me, a decent signing.

I’d much rather we kept hold of Novak, unless his injury was worse than was made out and he was shot, or on too much money as a back up.

 

Another reason to not worry overmuch about Andy Cook's presence is that he's rarely got injured throughout his career.

I think it’s a decent signing, feeling strangely optimistic about this season and it feels weird. I’ll snap out if it soon. Best of luck to the lad.

 

Lavery is a trademark Adam’s signing, good pedigree, good age, career stagnating if not going backwards, hopefully has a point to prove and a career to salvage.
Adam’s will be confident in his ability to get the best out of him.
Could be a very astute signing.

His approach play has surprised everyone….the lack of goals I’m not too worried about as yet. It’s clear he’s getting his focus back if reports are correct. Irrespective of his goal tally many thought it was a Meh signing. So far, he’s proving many to have been a tad hasty?

Lavery, although I see he’s 28 not 32, so younger than I thought! 6 years then
