Yes I don't disagree with that, but there were many times after when he was on the bench and we were screaming out for something different up front but Hughes didn't change it. Couldn't really see the point of him being on the bench if he wasn't going to play him. Also I think from the clubs early videos - back when the club actually communicated with fans - Young and Harratt seemed big mates

Strange signing for me, and I stick my neck out again and say it’s lazy. Boro connection that’s all. Do you think GA has heard/seen of him, or is it just Gent picking over his old club again?

He’s young yes, great. One for the future. But the fact is we need players for today, this season. I don’t see Wrexham, who have a desire to get out of this basement division asap, signing players for the future. They are bringing in players who can do the job and have an impact from the off. Fair enough, money helps.

Maybe it was just rumours, but if we’d have unveiled Wyke, then that would have been the biggest rabbit out of the hat for Sparks since Mark Hughes. A signing that shows both intention and fan base connection. But nope, you pay peanuts you get what you get.

His record so far in league 2 is crap. I’m all for giving players a chance but once again we’ve not learnt from our mistakes and handed out a contract length which seems undeserved. We never seem to learn. Another gent masterclass and by the looks of it only doesn’t his scouting in and around his old club. It’s boring and predictable .

 

Well I believe he has come on for Boro as a late substitute three times. So should have seen him at least

 

I can't comment on the player as I know nothing about him, but what this signing seems to show yet again is how limited (or lazy) Gent's scope is.

 

There's a lot of difference between giving longer contracts to hasbeens and journeymen than younger players.

That'll be the Wrexham against whom Wilson scored a screamer . In my opinion I think Wilson has already shown he's good enough for League 2. Unfortunately as we no longer play with wingers he might need to move on or adapt to another position....or wait a few months for the next manager. I'm not saying we shouldn't have signed quality, experienced players to get us out ofthis division, but we should also be signing young players like Wilson
