Maybe he's a replacement / alternative to Cook, not someone to play alongside him

We were going to get Wyke, then we made our CEO cry and he pulled the plug.

I simply dont get why folk are angry at this signing this was always on the cards .............a loan player doing nothing at his parent club DEAL DONE ............a permenant signing to bolster our forward line whose got a record of 3 goals in 30 odd games DEAL DONE ............. honestly why folk are remotely shocked is laughable

The lads only 20 and could have future potential. Who knows?

I just hope he has a chance to play and show us what he can do.

Cook needs competition. I’m glad he’s getting some

Boro fans seem shocked he's gone permanent few thought he had potential to make it there.give the lad a chance mite prove to be a good signing. Good age makes a change from old has beens.

Found this quote on Kavanagh. Sounds to me like he’s worth a chance.

The 20-year-old has always scored for fun in Middlesbrough’s youth teams – a goal every 95 minutes for their Under-18s, every 118 minutes for the U21s and every 78 minutes for the U23s – but didn’t show the clinical finishing for which he’s renowned at underage level in previous League Two loans with Harrogate and Newport. Kavanagh’s reaction? To plunge properly into the deep end by joining League Two Bradford on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

I am sceptical of anyone who is coming to play in league two for the third time. The second time is understandable as the first time is usually a learning curve but a third stint suggests he isn't good enough for league one.

If the lad is as good as his dad Graham, he'll do for me.

I am sure he won't be the worst forward we have signed in recent years. We have to give him a chance, after all, he has a better record at 20 than Nahki did.

His dad once squared up to Roy Keane(his manager at Sunderland) and had him by the throat,so a bit of that sort of fighting spirit won’t go amiss.

Yeah I agree with this. A lot of the appearances may even have been sub appearances so very difficult to judge on limited minutes.

If these two are better than Cook we're going up as champions!

Worth remembering Cook is turning 34 at the start of next season, but you know, 3 year deals n all that. I think Cook will start to get phased out from next season, even this year compared to last, he is getting more frustrated. Doesnt seem as confident with his feet, doesn't create out of nothing as he used to. I dont have the stats, but seemingly won more in the air last season too.

When he does start getting phased out, I wouldn't mind us trying to adopt a more technical play. Feels like it's been target man football for 15 years with Hanson, then Wyke, then Cook with odd spells of difference in there.

Disagree with you here BB. Tyreik was at Walsall, Salford & Colchester prior to his first stint with us.
