Match Thread Burton Pizza Event(with Poll)

I’m not sure what Burton’s strongest team is but if that was their fringe players playing our fringe players then we have a long way to go in assembling a squad that can compete in a league above.
Many of our team last night would be regular first team starters for any other league 2 team so it’s fair to say the result last night was very very poor

 

if we draw an under 21 team , Everton, Man utd etc, it will be played at Valley parade. Anybody else and we will be away as group runners up.

 

I believe that if we are drawn against one of the U21/3 sides, that will revert to being played at VP, SB.

 

Well what a disappointment that was....and I had no idea Harratt was so one-footed. I was expecting him to be a big, big signing for us this year. Looks like I was wrong

 

Added to which he is with the club rock bottom of NLN where he doesn’t really exert any quality or influence. Had a pre season trial with Halifax and got hooked so clearly not rated at NL level and that’s another club near bottom! Says it all for me.

 

In the earlier fixtures our fringe players probably felt they had a good chance of making the first 11 and performances reflected that. As time has gone on, more or less the same players are picked and rotated on a match day so those outside of that may be losing their appetite to compete. It’s always going to be difficult to keep a squad of our size happy and if 5 or 6 down tools, then even those that try hardest will get dragged down to unacceptable levels.

He left and signed a contract.

 

Personally think our attacking threat is good lots of players of equal skill. Just think Songoo and Osudina is a poor CB paring. maybe they need time to gel? personally think our midfield is quite weak in reserve too. Think it would have been a much different result with Smallwood, Wright, Crichlow and Platt playing..

Platt is such a great signing too, bit underrated actually.

 

2 outstanding strikes and 2 mistake by players not used to each other. MH will have learnt a lot through this defeat. We are still in the competition so move on with lessons learnt

 

Draw used to be done on soccer am on a Saturday morning if it still is is anyones guess

 

Looks like it is done around middle of November and was on sky sports if I remember correctly.

There's no automatic right for the game to be switched, for the game to be switched the U21 club would have to make a request to the EFL and the EFL accept the request. Last year Villa were meant to be at home to Charlton but that game was switched. The only game last year which had the u21 team at home was Arsenal vs Chelsea
