Yeah they just had their first home win of the season as well. Not such a good line up after all?

I'd suggest just the opposite a very good winning line up now, undefeated in 4 games.
    Accrington 1-1 Scunthorpe
    Scunthorpe 3-3 Rochdale
    AFC Wimbledon 2-3 Scunthorpe
    Scunthorpe 1-0 Shrewsbury

I'd swap the teams and management structure in a breath and make no mistake about it, so would 99% of City fans.

Put another way @Bronco@Bronco .... If OUR next four league results delivered the same points tally - few would complain ! ;)

Feeling confident for hopkins first league win. This dire run can't go on any longer. Forgot wat it feels like to wake up on a sun morning after a city win. Come on city season starts here 2-0 miller and anybody else that fancies a shot. Followed by at least a point at wimbledon.Happy days.

On what basis are you optimistic mate? An injury time leveller against the 10-boys of Everton’s academy side?

We can bury our heads in the sand all we like, the fact is we’ve been deservedly beaten in all 3 of Hopkin’s games, and luckily for us the scorelines have flattered us.

We’re much likelier to suffer a huge thrashing by a positive mediocre side pouncing on our lack of confidence/ability than turning the tables and getting a win.

    A harsh reality.

Id say the charlton performance was better than the burton one.which we won. Personally think hopkin will turn it round.

The bookies have Rovers slight favourites but I think we’ll take something from the game

Not true at all we had got back in the game against Charlton and were denied a definite penalty a lot more definitive than the first Blackpool one. And the second penalty was saved on to the post and dropped at their strikers feet. Then once again we were the better team for most of the second half at Doncaster and were denied a penalty .McCann said we gave them one of the hardest game of the season. I know we have problems but a change of luck would help.

We used up our luck for the season v Burton. Should have lost 4-1.

Still early days tbf, but given the start they had, they're doing well. Tbh, not everyone will agree, but I don't really need Macca making a decent job of it at Scunny to prove we made a premature and poor decision getting rid of him, like we did. Hope they can prove any doubters wrong. Most important though is somehow hoping Hopkin can find a way with our squad.

What a spin-doctor, Mandelson had nothing on you.

    August/Sept - time to Gel
October/Nov - Need that bit of luck to kick-start season.
Dec/Jan - Need the window open to get correct players.
    Feb/March - Time to Gel
    April/May - Hello League two

    Repeat 2019-20

.... and, you'll still be apologising for the Goons

Probably optimistic because despite the defeats the performances and efforts have been much better, I don't think we've been battered in any of the games and Everton had 10 men for about 3 minutes! You can tell that Hopkin is still trying to find his formation and best line up with his tinkering on Tuesday and towards the end of the last game going to a 442 with Gibson coming on and trying to be more offensive.

I also think we'll win 3-1 with Gibson getting a couple.

Optimism or delusional - I'm not too sure yet!!

I think it's easier to be magnanimous in victory than defeat.

Hahaha you have to laugh or you'd go bonkers.

Just need to amend Aug/Sept to Time to gel, have a proper pre-season and time to re-gel.

My original reply was with regards a comment that Scunthorpe had won a home game, but the poster failed to say since McCall was appointed they have not lost, now I dont know if their injury list is as bad as ours but it just goes to show how results can be turned around quickly.
I agree with your comment with regards Stuarts premature departure, I'm sure Hopkin has the hardest of the two tasks in turning us around but I'm possitive he will.

We're not having any more bad luck than other clubs, it's all pretty much even by season's end.
We had a lot of luck v Shrewsbury when they did everything bar score

Most of the bad luck we have had has been self inflicted mostly by poor decisions especially from Edin
