The local Labour councils have seen a 10 % reduction in Central Gov funding. Would you like to have a guess what Conservative councils have been given for the sake of political balance?

They spin the words “ levelling up” and some gullible fools believe them!

Both parties have been in government whilst I've been old enough to vote and I'm yet to witness a public transport system that is even close to anything in Europe.

This isn't something for political point scoring, this is an issue EVERY government has failed on.

Those with a moral compass perhaps?

Yes , facts are there to be read, not my facts,Government’s own facts.

Best not bring politics into it in the first place ?

Regardless of how good the buses are in Bradford I still wouldn't get on one. It's not the bus its the people who use them.

I know all these posts will be deleted so it's kinda peeing in the wind, but I agree with you.

The key difference is, THIS government, this particular one, under Boris Johnson, had the opportunity to make a real mark on Bradford in terms of public transport AND promised to do so.

And yet pulled the rug from under all of us, while cutting funding and lying about levelling up.

It's one thing for us lot to be the 'have nots', which we would be under Labour or Conservatives - but it's another to be lied to by the incumbent government who have failed us as a city and as a people relentlessly.

And what people don't realise....is that the cash to be given to West Yorkshire councils as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for 'Levelling Up' is about half of what the funding was from the EU European Social Fund prior to Brexit....

Completely agree about this particular government but what it all comes down to is that they ALL lie. We've just forgotten about the past ones as memories fade and the recent lies take over.

It's like some sort of sick merry go round where one politician after another becomes PM on promises built on lies them, when they inevitably fail to deliver, try to lie their way out of it.

The government wont invest adequately in public transport just like they won’t do more to reduce the ridiculous petrol prices. It’s all part of a global push to make electric vehicles the norm and line the pockets of the EV companies.

As our corrupt government showed with all the PPE fiasco during the pandemic, they aren’t afraid of taking a few back handers. When the average cost of an EV is around 40k, think about the sums we are talking about and the possibility to brown envelope those in power to push policy.

a few £2.50 busfares is small change by comparison, so they’ve no interest in improving services on a par like others in Europe.

oh, football, yeah. Id have gone to this as we live this side of Town and spend half my life in Harold Park next door it seems! Sadly my middle one has tickets for a gig in Halifax so off there with him on Friday instead! Im sure i can trust some useful updates on here though :)

    During the game!!!

BPA have a nice club on site, with a decent selection of beers. I had a Saltaire Blonde if I recall correctly when I went vs York...
