Again a guess but would need to pay Edin £1.4 million for his shares and around £400,000 in compensation for lost wages for him and his wife plus pension contributions plus round about £50,000 in legal and insurance costs, If Rupp wanted him gone quickly would guess it would cost him around £1,8 million ( or Euros )

How do you figure that out? He put £250k in maximum, the rest in loans, and the value of that has collapsed. No such thing as lost wages unless he’s on a fixed term contract. Pay his notice period in his employment contract, a compromise figure and same for Silke. Nowhere near £1.8m

I didn’t think Katie’s articles were that good. She’s talented and will go a long way in journalism but her writing is still immature in my opinion. The minesweeper stuff is her trademark and, in my opinion, it’s more suited to a blog or a fanzine. She’ll learn her trade.

The WOAP article tonight is more damning, it’s the sort of thing that should have been in the Telegraph and the sort of thing Parker should have been trotting out a long time ago.

Edin’s gone, he’s damaged goods in my opinion. The article in that German paper will likely make it hard to work in Germany and there’s no chance in England. If the story of Rupp coming over next week is true, I’d imagine that’s him over to negotiate Rahic’s exit but a man faced with no job, limited prospects of a job and giving upnhis dream, he’s going to fight tooth and nail to get what he feels he’s owed.

He should be paying the club for the shambles he’s created. If he gave even the smallest it’s about the club he would take his initial personal investment which I’m guessing wasn’t a lot a.m. do one an as for his wife , think she’s done enough cooking if the books to be able to walk away an all.

I agree with you. I read it the same way. It wasn't just any old Brunker or some guy who used to play for Bayern reserves - it was Charlie Wyke, who'd been subject to bids from other English clubs, and who had been making a name for himself in the division below us. Mccall should have known about him. Greg Abbot should have been chewing Stuarts ear off. Edin and Gregg got this one right - can't take that away from them. What happened afterwards was a total car crash of signings, but in this one instance, they managed to get someone through the door who did his job, and ultimately made us a profit.
But I guess this is what happens when a journo writes impartially. Spinning is the name of the game these days.

Maybe Rupp will just relieve him of his duties. He can still own a share of the club, but not be on the board, or have any part to play in terms of decision making. Doesn't Rupp have 75% of the shares anyway - in otherwords, majority ownership?

"WOAP understands this is City’s largest playing budget in 15 years. Rupp certainly cannot be accused of under-funding the club."

    I'm amazed at this revelation.
Still, Jason's word is one I trust.

In recent reports it says he owns 25% and they paid between £5-6m so £1.4m for his share would be about right

The reason for not writing something similar to the above is very simple- the article is not about McCall or Abbott. Why is she going to start slating McCall's signings in an article about Rahic?

Your argument seems to be that it doesnt paint an accurate picture but nowhere has it been claimed that Rahic must take 100% responsibility for every single signing. If you go back and read the article, the word "often" is a pretty large indicator that he wasn't in the eyes of the writer always accountable for poor recruitment. It could have been perfectly possible for Rahic to often overlook McCall's input whilst still occasionally allowing him to sign players such as the ones you've mentioned, so I'm not really sure what your point is?

Does it really matter how much cash he took out of the bank and how much was in loans? If the loans are in his name the he is still liable for them. 25% of a £6m purchase would put him at £1.5 and then there have been claims that between him and Silke they are pulling £200k a year so depending on his notice period that could be that on top, so almost up to the £1.8m.

He might own 75% of shares but we do not know what share holder agreements are in place. Look at the previous owners, there were three of them each owning a third but ML and JR had 50% each of the votes

He will get what Rupp decides to give him,or he will be kicking his heels in Germany waiting for us make a profit, which won’t happen any time soon. His shares are not worth the same amount as when they bought the club.

We finally get a good budget and a clown pisses it all away. Imagine if they gave that budget to Parky when they arrived. Or McCall after Wembley. Or a proper manager this summer. Jesus what a joke.

Unless he decides not to take what is offered and decides he may as well stay and keep pulling his wage

Not sure why this is being discussed. Her initial piece the other day was completely made up. "17 German investors" at the Oxford game. They weren't investors and there were 19 of them. She has looked at social media and made up a story which is factually incorrect. Lazy journalism to say the least.

It’s well reported he paid £700k for his shares isn’t it? And I think it’s 22% he owns

    That's amazing to an extent.

I'm not remotely surprised this is an expensive squad.

Scannell - signed on a permanent from a Premier League side.
Payne - signed on loan from a Premier League side.
Akpan - been on Championship wages, clearly not good enough for the Championship hence successive relegations, but wages won't suddenly drop massively
Doyle - 'marquee' signing and replacement for Wyke - proven at this level, so must be on BIG League One wages
Wood & Riley - come touted from Premier League academies (good academies, as well), you remember how expensive players like Rankin were??

Wright, Mellor, Reeves, Jones, O'Connor, McGowan, NKP, these are all proven League One players on appropriate wages. They weren't 'hoping' for a reasonable wage package, I'm sure.

Then you've got the fact our squad is massive - and I don't buy the 'other teams have a development/U23 squad' mentality - other teams will fill development squads with their own young kids on minor wages, we've gone out there and recruited players like Colville, Hawkes, Gibson, Isherwood, Clare, Hefele, Seedorf, L O'Brien, and as I already mentioned, Wood and Riley - that isn't an ordinary League One development squad, you can be sure - and given Edin's focus on youth, you can bet he thought he'd unearthed some real gems there.

    But that isn't helping us.

We have a BIG squad, and almost everyone is new. If Edin was assuming he was assembling a promotion-chasing side, you're not talking about a low-end wage bill, AT ALL.

    Far, far from it.

    So no, I'm not surprised.
