The employment contract issue shouldn't prove a problem but the shareholder's agreement may.

No I doubt he’ll get what he paid for them. Also I imagine his income stream will stop pretty sharpish as he’ll either quit , get sacked or
Made redundant therefore he will need money to live so will have to negotiate... also there are things a majority shareholder can do to remove a minor one
