We played fine in the first half. Anyone can have an opinion but not everyone understands football

 

Upto about 30 minutes and then we switched to the low intensity, slow passing around and nearly got ourselves in trouble.

An important win, and not lacking in effort. But in terms of quality and approach, it doesn't build much confidence in our promotion prospects.

 

A very welcome result with a very ok-ish performance but most importantly, we followed up on Saturdays result.

What was most satisfying was that we looked more way more solid than we have for most of this season and Clayton is a big positive difference in that. Far and away motm for me, also thought Halliday had a decent game against their best player in Bristow coming forward from LB.

We still look like we need be much more offensive in games, for all Tranmere created little, we didn’t do much more. However result was the most important thing tonight and we achieved it - bravo to players and management.

Very cagey though again. Wish they'd shoot more instead of these little passes on the edge of the box. A faster, more direct team would have taken the game to us.
I'm struggling to work out what type of player Eisa is. I thought he didn't do anything wrong when he came on, but at the same time, he didn't do anything in general. Walker had a good game and was busy taking nearly all the midfield duties from Gilly and Smallwood who were anonymous. Smallwood annoyed me during the last five mins, pinging the ball at pace to our players, and looping the ball up in the air, when all was needed to be done was keep control and keep it on the deck. Clayton had a quiet game, but that's a good thing - he just went about his business and mopped up. I thought Stubbs was very steady at the back.

A wins a win, and it's about time we get some scrappy goals and wins instead of the others. Lets put a run together now!
