    Still waiting for Dion “Messi” Periera to turn up this season. I wasn’t bothered about him coming back but I must admit I didn’t see many games at the back end of last season due to the fact it was a terrible season. Social media went into meltdown like we had signed the leagues best winger. I’m yet to see what he offers. I won’t write him off just yet but I don’t actually think he’s that good.

    It certainly doesn't help but his distribution at times is laughable. Seems like a rabbit in the headlights sometimes

    He has the ability without doubt to change games, the only thing is can he do it on a regular basis, didn't Sparkie say he's still not up to speed fitness wise.

    I
    I agree but he was lucky a couple of goals didn't come from his side with him getting beat by the Leicester youngster,he did improve in the second half.

    Big test now for Hughes the last few games the performances haven’t been there despite the points We are found out press hard and we are unable to cope. He now has to show that he can adapt the tactics to suit this league otherwise we are going to have another disappointing season. No excuses he has been supported to the hilt

    A few of us were concerned about how he would adapt to managing at our level. A valid criticism would be that he has adapted a style, and recruited players, more appropriate to a higher level where players are more skillful and consistent and better able to play to the system he wants to use. Although we can't complain about results, performances have hardly sent us home glowing about what we've seen. And, my perennial acid test, we've yet to see how this team will perform when the grounds get heavier between now and the end of March. The jury's out but we hope for a favourable verdict.

    Not sure if it's my imagination but aren't we traditionally always shite between December and March. For as long as I can remember our form is always better at the start and the end of the season. We are usually dire in the middle part.

    Well it baffles me that people think that because we’ve strung a few results together that everything is rosy and you can’t look for improvement, which is the point I raised constructively in the other thread.
    I’ve enjoyed the recent wins as much as the next man/woman, but I’d liked to have seen a more complete performance in some games. Today was another game where we didn’t play well for long spells (as has been the case in recent games) only this time we didn't quite have that bit of magic to get something from the match.

    Hughes said exactly that in his post match interview, the players must practice such things in training but didn't implement them today.

    Well it’s not going to buying assets is it?

    I meant that until we change the average prices for the league then our attendance is really fake.

    Don't you love a bad result so can quote your usual tripe, we've heard little from you the last 4 games I wonder why.

    I've banged on about this frquently on here. To get promoted you need a side that can perform consistently through the months of the season, the majority, when grounds are heavy, the rain is lashing down and flowing football is hard to play. The history of the leagues, particularly the lower ones, shows many instances of teams that are running away with it seemingly at the end of September but end up midtable. And the reverse. That's why canny managers recruit tall, strong and resilient players who can plough on when it gets tough. We've rarely had sides like that. And we haven't this year, but we'll see.

    [QUOTE="Bronco, post: 688323, member: https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/league-two/12715825/bradford-0-1-stockport-league-two-highlights

    Regards the penalty Sarcevic still had lot's to do in the box going full pelt before Odusina's clumsy challenge Platt was coming across to close Sarcevic down, how many times this season have we seen the referee wave play on with those sort of challenges.[/QUOTE]

    Funny, I was watching in iFollow and immediately shouted ‘No’ in frustration that the ref got it wrong. Was surprised to then hear commentary say that they thought it was a pen also. Clumsy, yes. A pen, I wasn’t so sure.

    Doesn’t change the nature or outcome of the game, we didn’t deserve anything. But need to watch again to be convinced it is was a stonewall pen.
