This referee has form for yellow cards this season.

 

Stevenage commentators moaning about fans clapping the red card, moaning about the fans holding the ball, moaning about our fans upsetting their lad over the throwing and moaning about how they parked 20 minutes away from the stadium. Why not just admit that we are a superior team and they're bottom end crap?

 

Sweet, sweet result against Evans

 

Really disciplined performance. Brilliant discipline, brilliant off the ball and excellent shape all game. Dare I say it wasn't the most exciting but very accomplished. All this comes from the manager.

Glad the ref stood up to Evans'nonsense. Halliday had a good game and was unlucky with his red. As soon as he launched into the tackle though it was only ending one way.

 

At least we have an able deputy in Luke Hendrie

 

Not the prettiest game to watch but what an absolutely glorious result - at last - against an Evans team.

Best ‘team’ performance I’ve seen from us in a long time.

Wasn’t pretty and we had a stroke of luck at times. Difference between this squad is resilience and ability to take pressure off ourselves by scoring at important moments to relieve that pressure.

Our strength in depth is evident today - bravo Hughes, management team and playing squad.

Best feeling we’ve had as a club since Parky days.

 

Comfortable in the end, though we were far from convincing until the 2nd went in. I worry about us playing out from goal kicks - Stevenage and Walsall had the measure of us when we do it and we invite pressure on ourselves.

But hey ho, a good win in the end. I like Wright - he actually wants to get in behind the opposition.

 

And we've got Walker to come back! My word...what a squad. Great to get a clean sheet today, especially with a different centre back pairing. I thought Timi did very well. No nonsense - different type of player to Crichlow. Platt seems to be growing each game. Can't help but think, that the confidence our midfield and keeper have in our defence, lets us play much better as a team. More to come from Wright I think too - growing in confidence each time I've seen him, and today he pretty much made that position his own to throw away. A goal and an assist, plus some sensible play at the end, not to mention standing up to some big hairy arsed full/centre backs against him. Don't need to say anything about Cook. Well done lad!
First time for a long time that I'm in a very good mood post match (even though we've won the last two, it felt as though we were lucky - tonight I'm gloating that we deserved to win that game hands down.)
