bet teams with decent support won’t do this and that’s why we need to get out of this league .......... imagine travelling all that way and your team refusing to play to your end in the 2nd half ........... me personally I would be effing livid .............. like you say get the Bradford end open and really counter act this

Andy this has been going on for decades. When we ruled in the old Bradford End , we hated kicking against the Kop in the second half . Teams would without any question turn us around and have us kicking towards the Bradford End the first half. It’s funny how it’s switched but new it certainly isn’t. We just need Smallwood to win the toss!

Does being turned around matter? It is just a psychological excuse or do the stats show there’s something in it?

I used to stand on that crumbly old kop exposed to the wind rain and snow. A toss of the coin is a 50/50 chance . Fans in both ends is a certainty. Valley parade is probably a very intimidating ground for opponents to visit, especially when we attack the kop in the later stages of a game. Make this for the whole 90 mins, kick of to the last touch of the ball.

Not sure about the stats. I just feel we do not play as well when this happens. It would be interesting to find out

Maybe instead of going to the Kop end before the toss of a coin we go to the Bradford End and the opposition don't latch on to our cunning plan.

Well this season we have lost the toss 3 times and haven't lost any of those matches.

I dont think the players give a toss and probably prefer the Bradford end as less pressure

Maybe so, but i still feel that we have not really played to our full capabilities and dominated at team as yet. Which i believe is also the sign of a good team. Not been able to say that about city for a while.

It’s certainly backfired on all the teams who turned us round at VP so far. The best one was Saturday of course. The oaf thought he was being smart as usual…ha!

I agree. I still don't think we've seen the full potential of this team yet. It's still early days but each time we play we get a little bit better.
Stevenage would have come here last season and won comfortably - probably by the same score as we won by.
It's testament to how this team is developing that it wasn't a great performance but we still came off the pitch without conceding and taking all three points

They did come here last year and lost by the same score as City put on the display of the season.....
The difference now is Evans and doesn't it feel good.. ?

Stevenage fans think we are not better than them, we are a 1 man team and will do as every season; start well then fade.

I think he means THIS Stevenage under Evans would have come to VP and beat us easily.

I think we were indifferent last season under Bowyer. Not awful, but definitely not good. Draws aplenty, struggling to score goals.

Night and day to what we have now.

And absolutely: so much better giving Evans a hiding :grinning:

I've forgotten the name of our last manager. Have you as well?

To be fair @JonButterfield@JonButterfield , that display against Stevenage last season was excellent. Obviously I wasn’t there but watching/reading it seems like it was a much better City performance last year. That being said, I don’t think this Stevenage team would have been as overrun. Same score and all that but I think Saturday’s result was the better one even if last year’s performance was better in terms of fluidity of play. Does that make any sense?
