McAleny has ability above league two level he showed it at Oxford and Fleetwood (where I believe we were in for him as well as when he was at Oldham) his problem was staying fit.

 

Agree on how we mixed things up-we looked dangerous virtually every time we attacked.

They are a good solid team in midfield and up top but quite poor in defence. What was their keeper doing for our first goal.... went walkabout and our third again where were the defence?

 

Enjoyed that. If all of our games in 2023 are that entertaining then I'll be very happy.

 

All going well but the formation may need a slight twerk in games to come, I think it leaves us very open and narrow especially when one player goes for a press. It's very easy to get behind and the Salford widemen, just like Harrogate's full back seemed to have so much time and space to get at ud

Watt was his usual self. Some good touches and passes, but lots of Hollywood balls that went nowhere and a needless booking. Can’t see him pushing on there at all.

 

I thought coming back to Valley Parade Watt might have been an also ran as he was very reluctant to take corners at the end the Bradford City fans were congregated at Salford but fair does he was well up for it today and to his credit put some very good free kicks/corners into the danger area's where we dealt with most of the time.

They hit the crossbar when they should have scored. Anywhere but straight at the keeper from Smith at the end and it was in.

It was a great game to watch, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but we lost our way in the last 10 minutes and just saw it out. Imo of course.

 

Disagree. If Hughes continues to play him in this role and formation, at this level Sutton is an effective asset to the team. Doesn’t mean he needs to be a nailed on starter every week, but he’s more than capable of positively influencing a game when played in the right way.

Yes I get that , but again they may say they scraped not conceding 5. It was that sort of game. That’s why “scraped “ ( a win) was a little overestimated?
