Got to agree. Northampton the best team for me, Orient away were very accomplished. The Salford players were good, they played well and it was a very entertaining match, which they played their part in.

Whereas Northampton and Orient are in my view ‘proper’ clubs, Salford City are a tinpot vanity project for a few Ex Manchester United players and Peter Lim who apparently is worth $2.5 BILLION (I kid you not).

They have very few supporters, a meccano stadium, hidden in a housing estate, the sooner they sink back down the leagues (and they will if Lim gets bored) the better.

Two different discussions. I was responding to the Walker comment , not Chapman.

Yes we did. Especially after the substitutions it was evident we were back to a 4-2-3-1.

The reply was in defence of Walker with the added comment about Chapman,

I think McAleny must have had a bump on the head early doors…

I thought we were the better team, I think everyone watching would agree with that as well. If we come off the pitch and we haven’t been creating stuff or chances, I would be a little bit worried but we were creating loads, by far the better team, passing, it’s just really frustrating that we’ve come away with no points today

Adams always picked him. Hughes always picks him. Yet apparently, he's rubbish ;)[/QUOTE]
I thought Chapman played well as he does in most games unfortunately his woeful finishing let’s him down

Which in this instance was completely ignored as a “whatsboutism”

    We actually did.

We had Cook up front, with Walker in behind and Wright and Eisa on the wings - right up until Wright went off for Songo'o.

Sorry if it offends you! I was on formation watch, and it was clear as day.

One of those players that doesn't like us, IMO, and I bet he and Watt fully expected to win.

Still, completely delusional to talk about how they made chances and passed the ball around, but fail to acknowledge that so did we LOL!

It was a cracking game, and it was also a close game - but we shaded it.

Apparently, they realised that our modified system makes us weaker down the flanks. Something Harrogate, eventually sussed out as well.

Needs a slight tweak to prevent that becoming a problem

We were amazed by Walker when he came on. If you remember, the first thing he did was take the ball down the left and whizz past two players as though he'd played in all 23 matches.

I don't think after so long we could have hope for much better. Remember, he came on and was surrounded by knackered players - so very hard for him to impose himself for long. But most wouldn't even have got to his chance.

Very very impressed. I expected nothing much from him for a month.

P.S. Gilly has not had 21 consecutive 'gash' League games!!

I remember when he came back after been out injured, early season, and he even got praised on these boards.

If we're replacing him, then that's going to cost money as East ain't the answer. And I think we see that if he's part of a three man midfield, he's fine at this level.

Agreed, it was vintage Walker getting into the box like that, his runs are great at times and players seem to be able to pick him out, too, which sounds silly but it happens time and time again. Clever player, with real skill.

It's going to be a nightmare for teams playing against Cook or Oliver, Walker, and Wright - all three offer something different, and are a real goal threat.

Not sure I get the hatred to be honest. They are what they are, yes they have had a helping hand to get where they are now, but it's not like they act Billy bollocks, I much prefer them to forest green.

You bemoan the lack of support, but to me that stands to reason, that they haven't all of a sudden had an influx of Manchester based fans jumping on the bandwagon.

They appear to have found their level now, and are having difficulty finding that next step but at least they are doing it right and not having achieved it via find back door routes and brown paper envelopes.

They are doing things within there means ground wise, they have a six thousand seater stadium (if that) as they haven't got ideas above there station.

Mark Hughes has man utd links, would you be as perturbed if he brought his mates along and tried to buy his way out of league two for us?

Fair play to Hughes for doing what Parkinson did back in the 15/16 play-off season. If you remember he kept swapping the centre forwards strikers, i.e. Hanson, Proctor, Davies. You suddenly get focussed strikers who know they have to perform or they are off - as Davies memorably did against Scunthorpe in that vital 'play-off eliminator' game of April 16'.

Cook / Oliver both look they've been fed on red meat these last two games!! Long may it continue.

Not sure I used the term ‘hate’. If I did, please point it out. Dislike I would accept.

They actually are attempting to move to the AJ Bell stadium, which would be a bit like City trying to build a new stadium ten miles away from VP. One of the reasons is that it is a 12,000 capacity venue.

I stand by my earlier points. ‘They have very few supporters, a meccano stadium, hidden in a housing estate’. They have like a few other clubs, and I agree with your comment about Forest Green, been promoted beyond their natural level.

Did you listen to the rest of the interview though? Wood saying we didn't play, we just went long ball to Oliver with his presence...pml.....what did they play instead? Cultured, aimed passes to Smith's head? Can't make it up...:joy::joy:

Here's the link to the interview...
