    All the defence defended well.
    Kelly's distribution wasn't the best.
I thought Baldwin looked really good when faced up 1 v 1.

There's always parking at the bottom of Bolton Lane.
A 10 mins walk afterwards though.

I thought their No.6 Fornah ran the show first half until he tired in the second, which is understandable having only signed 2 days earlier. He's on loan from Derby and is an international, which surprised a few that he dropped to league 2. With GA still wanting another in, and with the players at his disposal do we think he sees what is missing (i.e.Fornah), or will he just plump for another CB when it's obvious we need another option for Smallwood (who played ok yesterday).

    Not sure about Sanderson.
I think he was asked to play that role rather than being that type of player as it's not how he described himself

Will/wont be going? Which is it?
It’s a football ground, I wouldn’t be expecting Michelin star food.
Regards parking, depending on how early you arrive, there’s always plenty of parking close to the ground. If you turn up at 2.30 then probably not.

Just park outside the wedding venues and put a free Palestine sticker in the window. No one will touch you.

    Good morning happy clappers.

After a good night sleep and reflection.

I've come to the conclusion that we're still crap. And Bradford City, Salford and Grimsby are still early favourites for relegation.

Please tell me where; we use to park in Walmer Villas. We maybe get to park there if we turn up at 12! I am happy to pay for parking if it is reasonable.

    Morning.

Go on then, I will bite. There is absolutely no way are we going to be anywhere near relegation.

Am I happy with how we played for the most part yesterday?, not at all. I am as fed up as most on how we play at home and GA has to quickly sort that out.

That said, I believe it's now 9 games unbeaten in the league, and we are certainly not relegation fodder.

I will be interested to know your thinking on why we are, without your usual 'we are crap'

Or, maybe he's calling them out for not producing the required quality?

That's the problem with football these days, everyone is too precious and players don't like it when a few truths are told. Most seem to just sulk like babies.

I don’t know how far away from the ground is too far for you but there’s usually spaces down Clifton Villas up to around 2pm and there’s also 2 car parks / gardens down there for £3 although you do get blocked in unless you’re near the front.
There’s also Midland Road close to the Kop end if you’re willing to arrive 1pm ish.

I don’t blame Cook for sulking because the quality of service to him is simply not good enough.
Balls delivered from wide positions via Wright/Haliday are woeful.
Set pieces from Smallwood the least said the better.

I think you need to be creative. How about parking somewhere like Emm Lane-Frizinghall area, one of the side streets. Then use you bus passes to get to and from VP. The fact you are parking in that area, would mean all the buses that go as far as the Branch would be suitable. Far more choice, a shorter bus journey, yet missing out on the congestion close to the ground.

Cook did moan a lot yesterday but with justification, the balls into him were poor especially considering quite often the CBs were doubling up on him. Kavanagh didn't really help, his movement off the ball was poor, not really dragging defenders away from Cook. Kavanagh is frustrating, there looks like there is potential there but we need it now.
We need to press higher and move the ball quicker, GA knows that but it's up to him to get them doing that or pick players who will.
It obviously isn't going to happen now but Young would be a better partner for Cook in my view.

    Disappointing start at home.
Way too much hoofball. Their CBs had Cook in their pockets but we still kept launching missiles up to him, only to see them headed back to us. Cook’s strength is facing forward, not as a back to goal lone target man, yet we persist in trying to make him one.

We have a gang of decent attacking midfielders but spend too much time bypassing them instead of using them.

Why is Alexander playing Kav as a 10? He’s rubbish at it. He doesn’t have the control or vision necessary. He’s a chaser and harrier so, if picked, he should be up alongside Cook, taking some of the load off him, not playing behind in the hole. Baffling. If he wants to play with a 10 we’ve got Walker and Pointon who could both do it better than Kav.
