We've got pace now in Adaramola, Khela, Patto and Mellon.
Add to that experience in Johnson, Smallwood and Sarc then it was a decent side we could put out today even with injuries in the squad.
GA said that Wright has a broken nose which imo is a bit of a blessing as Adaramola is a natural LWB.
GA confirmed he should be ok for Tuesday as he's got tendonitis that flares up, just needs managing.
Another good number of minutes for Mellon.
Just needs a goal.
Good run of home fixtures now.
Only Colchester could be a tough test.

This idea from our fans that Pointon was a work-in-progress who only contributes from the bench was nonsense. Since he’s been starting regularly he’s been an integral part of our midfield.

 

Yeah, what's he called, Crowley is it? He must have got 4 or 5 crosses in and forced a save from Walker and it all came from that side in the first 20.

But it wasn't just him, the little lad Nemane also had the freedom of Valley Parade early on. Same side, over and over.

It wasn't 20 minutes, Sarcevic scored in the 11th minute. I wouldn't say any of MK had the freedom of Valley Parade. We weathered an early push that's all.

 

As @NorthernMonkey , Dave said, he’s decent going forward but he DOES NOT like the graft defensively , he always hangs back in midfield when losing the ball, that’s why their defence is poor . Sarcevic is twice the player because he does the dirty work as well!
Hence my comment about Crowley and Kelky. They just leave their defence totally exposed.

 

Fair enough, however long it was.

I don't think we even touched the ball for the first few minutes, but we did weather it and the balls in weren't quite up to scratch.

Then when we took the lead, the Dons went into hiding.

 

Crowley was responsible for about 90% of everything they did today. Looks a tidy player. Luckily the others around him were generally pretty gash. Saw Smallwood and Sars have a few good hefty tackles with Crowley. We are not afraid to dish it out where needed now.

 

Yes he’s decent going forward but once he’s lost the ball ……he’s like the scarlet pimpernel. Sarcevic had him sussed even winding him up at times in the first half.

That was Sarcevic best game by a country mile… Class!

 

And we kept our heads when on the back of some dire decisions from the ref and the lino on MR side.

What i found impressive about today's win was when Khela had to come on for Patto around half the City team is recent arrivals;

See GA you DID need a big squad after all!
But a testament to the togetherness this current City team has.

Spot on, the lads always been a talent and we’re lucky he wasn’t picked up before he got to the first team which usually happens. The biggest nonsense come by was always fans only rate him because he’s one of our own, nothing to do with him being good then…

 

I like the look of Johnson.

Very vocal, very dialled in, good organiser.

Seems to work well with Halliday, who can be a bit quiet

 

There was a great moment in the second half where Sarcevic was really winding him up and the camera panned in so you could see him egging him on and the facial expressions as well. Experience and gamesmanship we’ve lacked for a long time

 

Yes, that block from Sarcevic in the penalty area late on and then he was quickest to close it down again. Pure commitment.

 

I’ve a real feeling he was one of the two that attracted bids we wouldn’t entertain in Jan… Hats off to the club say we want the player ……not the money!

 

Spot on. He showed at the back end of last season what he could do so was surprised to see him overlooked for large parts this season. He’s always been good enough, literally just needed a run of games to show it.

 

Was worried about today coming on the back of the recent crammed fixture list but really enjoyed that. The pressing was fantastic!
Top team performance but Sarc and Smallwood were immense. Really liking the look of Mellon.
If we can keep the key lads fit (hopefully Pattison coming off was just a precaution) this could really be the year we get out of this horrible league which was unthinkable after Notts County.
