What would I give to see him and Robbie as our front two all over again. By a country mile the best pairing for pace and skill I have witnessed playing for City over 60 years. Nobody can touch em, not even close.

So why would you be fuming if the “professional “ medical staff say it’s dangerous for the players health to play whilst injured?

If they deem him unfit or potential for making the injury worse then we move on to plan B, if there ever was one? No point in blaming the medical folks.

 

Why would Cook be on the bench if he wasn't deemed fit?

 

It's not a myth, it's commonly known that there are clauses inserted into loan deals. Players usually do have to play a certain a number of games, probably because it's pointless for either side and the player if not. It's been mentioned a few times by officials, around certain players we have.

I remember one guy, think it may have been sparks or possibly Baldwin when we were linked with a Liverpool loanee, and it was stated they (Liverpool) demanded a loan fee, and also issued a fine, likely an increase on the wage percentage paid, if that player didn't feature in the match day squad/team.

 

Only if that midfield dominance results in chances created and goals scored. A midfield of Chapman, Smallwood and Gilliead will create and score very few goals. Which means the 'entertaining fast wingers' and the strikers have to create their own chances and score all the goals. That's already a tough ask for L2 players. It's made even harder if you only have two creators (Walker and one winger) in the side because you've packed your midfield with defensive, safety first players.

 

If he’s not fit he shouldn’t be on the bench, I never suggested he should be?

 

You asked Bantams Lancs why they would be fuming if professional medical staff deemed Cook unfit, but that wasn't their point. Their point was they would be fuming if Cook was on the bench because if he's on the bench, that means he is deemed fit and if he is deemed fit, he should be starting.

 

Could you get someone to translate that , bottom line is, where did I suggest, intimate, or even drop a clue that he should be on the bench if deemed unfit?

 

Never get bored of reminiscing about Robbie Blake. The most technically gifted player we've ever had. OK ok Chris Waddle and Carbone weren't bad but Blake was off the scale.

I'm not sure Cook will start if his nose is as bad as being made out.

I'd like to see Nevers given a go from the start. No one was sure what Wright had until he was given a chance. We'll need some pace and we need to score first so I'd be hoping Nevers gets in the starting 11.

 

We need a 2 goal margin to feel comfortable at home unfortunatly.

That formation at Mansfield against how they play was one of our best performances of the season.

 

It was just a perfect team to watch wasn’t it. Aerial threat of Mills, the twists and turns of Blake and Beags and then the explosive power of Jamo on the right. Stuart getting stuck in and Whalley rarely wasting a pass.

i wish my kids got to watch that side, or the Parky one, rather than the Bowyer onwards stuff they’ve been subjected to!
