So did you go to the game? An easy drive back last night. Apparently I was home before people got to Foxes corner in Shipley. No delays whatsoever on the M62.

You shouldn't be shocked mate. Some on here on here cream themselves when we play reasonably well and win. Quite a few seem to go over the top when we lose and don't play so well.
The pluses for me were that we won, we didn't seem to look like conceding for most of the game but most of all the best thing for me was that although it has taken a while MH changed our shape and personal and it worked. This isn't a shit league, whatever some people like to think and to get out of it we need to be flexible in our tactics which hopefully MH has now woken up to but most of we need to work hard for a full 90 minutes, every game. Levi Sutton epitomizes that with his commitment when playing this particular system.

I encountered a blocked canal road a few days ago. Looks like a burst watermain or something similar. Love the way there's no one working on it. Kinda sums up the North of England pretty well.

One thing I noticed last night. Our subs didn’t impact the game much but we didn’t play much differently. However Harrogates subs made them notably weaker. Our bench was stronger than theirs and we didn’t look like really conceding after they made those changes. Their left back was decent and when subbed they lost all threat from that side.

Just replying to my own post. Actually quite enjoyed it in the end. Fair play City.

Looks like the leftmost City player is keeping him onside.

He looks off to me but then running the line and making that call in real time is only ever going to be guesswork. Its nigh on impossible to get those calls right. The stick that referees get is bizarre. Too many fans judging referees performances on how much they give in city's favour. It doesn't work like that. The standard of refereeing will never be better than it is now.

Don’t want to get in to the ref debate again but you are bang right.
There will be silence next time we get a dodgy decision going for us.
    It’s what fans do.

I think vocally at a game that's what happens, but equally I've seen fans criticise a 'homer' in much the same way.

I thought last night's referee was okay at the small decisions, but a total wimp when it came to big decisions (red card, hand ball).

He wanted an easy night, looked like, which isn't the mentality a referee should have.

The red card is an example of 90% of situations in the modern game where the ref is equally justified in giving it either way. There'd be a complete meltdown on here if that had been the other way round and a city player had been sent off. As soon as the tackle went in I knew it was a yellow at most. Very unlikely the refs going to pull out a red for that.

Interesting comments, if Cook had scored those two chances at Brunton Park, you would have all been saying 'what a wonderful away performance' despite the first half being all Carlisle, and United finishing quite strongly.
That's football for you, no matter the performance, if you get the 3 points then people will always look on the bright side and the end of the day that's all that matters.

Just a small point we had most of the possession, so it wasn’t ‘all Carlisle’! What you did well was create more chances from less play.
You were more clinical. You deserved the win.

The thing with city fans is most accuse the refs of intentionally not being homers at VP and deliberately showing that they won’t be swayed by the big crowd.
It’s only when we are away that refs are accused of being homers.I can’t remember the last time a ref was accused of being a homer at VP.
I’ll stick with my long held theory that there are good refs and shit refs.
    It’s that simple.

Depends.on the bigger picture. Both under Adams and Bowyer the warning signs were there but people chose to ignore them because we were in the playoffs. Yet the way we were playing, despite picking up points, said a different story. Thankfully January is almost here and it means we can strengthen where we are clearly weak.

Agree but what happened to the giving the attacking player the advantage, unless the player is blatantly off side.

This is the Harrogate thread, we have one for Carlisle as well so you don’t feel neglected. Truth is we have moved on from both we are now nearly into the January spendathon and the Salford match.

Another very honest post match interview from Levi. Hopefully he did enough on the pitch to get a bit of a run. He with only improve with match fitness.

Actually I quite agree, but this is the way we've played all season, let the opposition have as much ball as they like, then hit them when you have the chance.
Anyway enough of the super Blues, good luck against Salford tomorrow.;)
