Until we sort out our CM and have a forward that can play for the team then we will struggle.

    Smallwood has been a disappointment.

Bang on the money and the reason we did not win today. If Hughes is gonna insist on playing the ball out from the back he's.gonna need to add a midfielder who is happy recieving the ball with no his back to goal and happy to turn with it. Chapman the only one to be able to do it but we need a player who can do that recieving the ball from Platt and Critchlow. Otherwise we end up with our full backs getting the ball from them with the only option of passing it straight back because our central midfield doesn't offer itself as an option.
Chapman showing the form that belies a career further up the league and Halliday probably had his best game for the club.lewis again with a couple of excellent saves and Foulds continuing his fine run of form. Wright had an off day, Periera with a good finish and showed glimpses of what he can do before being taken off.

Halliday made some great recovery tackles an put a shift in
Chapman tried to make things happen at every oppertunity, even if it didn’t come off
Foulds stepped up in the second half an provided us with some much needed energy
Perriera finally got his goal which will bring much needed confidence
& Lewis is the best keeper in the league

besides that, we were wank. Playing a defensive formation once again at home,
Cook got one chance at the start but besides that nothing.
The 3 behind cook kept switching positions which meant neither of em knew where the other was because they were all over the place
Gilliead should of been hooked at half time but alas, Mark Hughes does not make changes to the midfield duo

I said this before an il say it again. There is no glue between the defence an attack. You have 2 CBs an 2 defensive minded midfielders in front of them. When is the last time we had a CM who brought the ball forward an drove with it? Gary Jones? Cus thats a pisstake

I've not thrown in the towel. Just a realist. What I'm watching isn't.

VP was a morgue today. It's almost as if city fans knew what was coming.

    17k fans let down again.

It’s going to be a long process under Hughes. Asking players who’ve mainly spent their careers in the lower leagues to play out from the back is never going to be an overnight success. Especially when we come up against team who deploy a high press like we’ve seen a few times recently.

I’ve seen enough to think it’ll deliver success if we give it the time required. There are spells where we look really good and incisive, but we just can’t maintain it. Key is that the fans stay patient and allow things to progress.

If you’re honestly trying to tell me that we cannot break a team down unless Walker is playing then that is a pisstake. We have the most stacked squad on paper. Every single player is League Two standard minimum. Half of the starting 11 an bench have experience in higher leagues. The squad isn’t the issue. Its the manager. Either play 3 in midfield or 2 up top because we get overrun in the middle of the park every week an we can’t break a team down for shit. An because we setup like we’re prime Barcelona, it means that if the opposition realises that all they have to do to nullify us is to press the 2 CMs an the full backs, we’re stuffed, because we cant even switch it up and go long until Oliver comes on in the 70th minute

too slow , too predictable not direct enough and lacking in any quality in the centre of midfield, Smallwood and Gilliead , complete liabilities today.
7 points out of 9 dropped at home from the last 3 games , all through defensive mistakes, leading to set piece goals is not what you need for promotion . We do not lose many , but we do not win nearly enough.

Theyv've seen 3 wins in 9 Dave at home, same slow methodical approach in all nine games leading to nothing. It's turgid at times. I've never gotten the booking arguement. You clap and cheer to show appreciation, are you supposed to sit on your hands in silence if you don't like what you see?

If they don't like a few fans getting on their back, they're in the wrong game

I could see Wright making runs then stopping because the ball never came.

Fair retort DT. I see the issues but I feel its not the right response. 1 or 2 players towards the end of the first half, to me looked liked they were shying away from the ball.. Self fulfilling?

We are in the plays off. Ultimately this style of play may get us up

Dave the problem with that is in the playoffs generally the teams are okay and if we give them chances like today we are gone...

Well,we’ve moaned when teams have come to VP and put ten men behind the ball, used the dark arts and time wasted from minute one.
Can’t accuse Crawley of any of that.2 up top from the start,no real time wasting. In fact their keeper took quite a few quick free kicks and dead balls to put us under pressure. And no sign of moaning at the ref at every opportunity.

And we cant blame the ref today either.
Thought he got everything right and didn’t really notice him.

I wonder if the Radio Leeds guy can blow some more smoke up Banks arse.
He had a decent 16 minutes but that’s all it was-decent.
