Yeah that ref. I thought he was pretty shit for both teams and why only 4 mins at the end? How many times were they stood with the ball pretending not to know what to do with it.

REALLY glad we sent them home with their tails between their legs. They seemed to be better than their league position but glad they didn't decide to have a go at us but fanny around instead. Serves them right.

 

He said himself on twitter that he had a slight injury in response to tweets from Gill's fans midweek

 

A masterstroke?

The 4 year old kid in front of me at his first ever football match could see that midfield wasn't working.

 

The one that pissed me off was the one in the second half on the half way line.
The player was stood over the ball ready to take it,the ref blew his whistle and then he decided he wasn’t taking it anymore and Wood ambled from 20 yards away to take it.

Not very subtle.

Really important victory. Generally a poor performance until the formation and personnel changes came in the last 10 minutes but we had to win no matter what.

Chapman and Banks made a difference. At home we need players like them who put a defence on the back foot and make opposition players defend 1v1 otherwise its far too easy for sides to sit back and frustrate us.

Think that should be the end of the diamond at home because teams who come here with five at the back have the freedom of both flanks to counter us on.

 

I didn't even realise Connor wood was playing until it was mentioned after the game. As for Kellerer, he's improved for games hasn't he, don't think he missed a great deal all game.

 

We're at the point in the season where the results matter more than the performance. Getting out of this dismal league is all that matters.

However, if we continue with this tentative approach is easy to see us not getting the results in games we should between now and May.

you didn’t miss much of a match at VP……until the dramatic end!

 

Wasnt a classic game was it. Colchester came for a point and could have scored three on another day.

Then again, we hit the woodwork and improved when the subs came on - Banks especially.

agree with the sponsors - Halliday deserved MOM and was superb.

great to see Cooky bag and assist. Banks has to start, he’s just better than our alternatives.

crowd was great but noise less so…..until last five mins at least.

but well done City. Werent great but earned three big points. Keep it going lads

 

I actually think Chapman deserves more game time on the wing. It's obviously where he belongs and could cause a lot of problems for opposing teams

 

I knew we would win the game before OH dropped our son and me at Valley Parade.
We were driving down Oak Avenue and just before we turned right at the bottom we passed a group of Bantam chickens by the roadside. One of them was getting some "attention" from a cockerel.
I said this was a good omen and so it proved!!
