Cook is a problem though. Certainly when the going isn't going good.

That's 100 passes each between themselves and 4 passes out of defense.

Give it a rest. Cook is ONE goal off being the leading scorer in League Two and has played 307 minutes (3.5 games) less than Dennis and 358 minutes less (4 games) less than Hoskins. Everyone else in the league barring Johnson @ Walsall and Gordon @ Barrow are scoring at a rate of above 200 minutes per goal.

Without Cook's goals we would be floundering near Rochdale.

That's because Smallwood and Clayton kept passing the ball back to them.

So now the problem with the midfield is that Cook doesn't help them ? Jeez, you need some help with your obsessive hate disorder.

Has he cut the water supply to your car wash or something
You have an unhealthy dislike to our top scorer
He and Lewis are the first names on many a teamsheet
Where are the rest of the players whilst Cook is being marked by 3 defenders
We have far more issues to resolve than Cook

This is my problem when we're moaning about time wasting from the opposition. We completely kill the game tempo ourselves and remove at least 20 minutes from the clock every game with the constant switching across the back 4.

Not too bad if we're fortunate to be in front but when we're behind it's more frustrating than anything the opposition get up to.

How on earth was he allowed to break from inside his own half ? On a positive note, there IS a shot on target where their keeper saves with his legs. Small Wins !!

Back in the day, the last 15 minutes when were chasing a game used to be rocking. Remember Spurs at home in the PL when we were two down after ten minutes and cam back to draw with a late late equaliser ?

There are numerous examples of the last 15 minutes at VP being like the Alamo for the defending sides but I can't think of a single recent example, or certainly not this season anyway.

I'm struggling to think of many in the last five years, barring Wimbledon at Home this season

Exactly. The whole idea of the midfielders taking the ball off the CBs is because they are allegedly the more creative and better ball players. I have said it more than once, Smallwood in particular usually plays the ball straight back to the defender without even looking over his shoulder to see if he has space on anything is on. I have seen Walker get frustrated by this on more than one occasion.

Good shout, I wasn't there at that one but I do remember the highlights which suggested we gave it a decent go.

Wimbledon is possibly the nearest when we slung Oliver on and pumped balls into the box hoping he would get his head on one which his did 5 minutes into extra time, but as you say few Alamo moments.

    Head , parapet, above………Cheap seasons?

Just throwing it in there for discussion.

Home crowds at 95% of away grounds are as you describe if their team goes behind. What makes us so different in the last few seasons?

Expectations out of proportion to their “investment “?

With respect, chasing a game as underdogs in the Premiership is far, far removed from creating an alamo siege against the mighty Barrow when we are passing sideways between our defence

True, but it wasn't just the PL was it ? We used to do it on a regular basis, both on our way up and on our way down. Especially after the clocks went back and we ended matches in the dark. The difference, as you rightly allude to, is we weren't passing it sideways on the edge of our box.

Oh for an Omar Daley, a Kyle Reid, even a Zavon Hines.
