I thought Johnson was horrendous tonight. So much so that I was missing Baldwin in that role! We were definitely better too once Huntingdon came on and Baldwin shuffled back across.

What I loved tonight was the lads throwing bodies on the line desperate to get blocks in. We’ve not always had that with our lot.

they are playing for each other and putting everything in for GA.

I've already had it done on my left side, around 3 years ago so I remember the struggle to sleep. It doesn't help that the missus kept elbowing me because when I did drift off the snoring was apparently horrendous with me being on my back!

Blimey-8 home wins in a row actively pushing for promotion. Who would have thought that after Notts County away.

Fair play to the 20 or so accrington fans who sang for most of the game. You were a credit to your club but some of your players weren't. Some of the dives they took were astonishing and a better referee would have quickly stamped it out.

Reminded me of one Eric Gates while at Sunderland, late 80's. IIRC we took score cards to mark his dives out of 10 at one visit to Roker Park.

I'm still protesting against the so called leaders of our club by my abstinence.

 

Winning ugly and grinding out results is a much needed trait in a successful season but you can only do it so many time. It’s great to see us capable of doing it but eventually performances need to be of a decent standard to maintain the results. The last few games have been poor, despite the results, but if we don’t up our game soon we will start to drop points.

 

Huntingdon did some great defending when he came from nowhere and headed a very dangerous cross for a corner, it looked like a goal if he didn't get to it.

 

The one concern I had tonight was how we lost discipline in the 1st half and picked up 3 needless yellow cards that put us at risk in the 2nd half as there were a couple of occasions especially with Smallwood where he had to let their player past or pull out of a challenge as he was on a yellow card. This is 2 in 2 game for Smallwood that were needless which puts him on 7 with 7 games until to cut of for a 2 game ban.

Lack of discipline cost us earlier in the season and I just hope it isn't creeping back in.

 

Another dull affair apart from Pattison 's Paul Tayloresque strike, but it's another 3 points and another clean sheet which I'm sure we would all have taken before kick off. Still worried about our options upfront though. It doesn't feel like we've got the ammunition that will be needed to keep us in the top 3.

 

I agree and wins, however ugly improve confidence. Let's just enjoy
