I would think Wright especially will be way behind everyone else given he missed out on Austria.

Apparently available but wont be match fit. GA made no mention of him missing. Dont see him making the 18.

Kelly perhaps as only 4 available CBs.

Maybe that's the plan with Metcalffe.
3 year deal, Power has 2.
Same as they got in Lapslie in January knowing Walker would be leaving in the summer.
This is Patto's last year in his current deal.
Sharpe on the ball regards contracts v mins played and injuries.

I think it's harsh to call Richards a sicknote when his first injury was a freak incident that caused a shoulder dislocation which could happen to anyone and rather than taking the selfish route and getting surgery he put it off so he could return to the team knowing there was a risk of doing it again. When he came back he got a hamstring injury and the only reason he missed the start of pre-season was because he was recovering from the shoulder and hamstring injury. Now he's had the shoulder surgery the risk of it happening again will be much lower so I'd be forgetting all about the time out last season with the shoulder unless it was to happen again.

Well he only got a 1 year deal for a reason...

Thanks Voicey. Gut tells me a cagey open day draw is on the cards as you've predicted.

I really like Richards, Pattison and Sarcevic - all 3 are very valuable members of the squad but if they can't stay fit then they are of no real use going forward. I used to love Andrew Davies - what a player. Probably the best CB we have had the last 20 years. But it was time for him to go sadly...

I think they got in Lapslie thinking Walker would depart in January. Maybe get a small fee and off the books. Didn't happen.

To be fair it's not just last season when we've missed Richards, his first season here he had issues too. He signed, played five games then missed 2 months with a groin injury. Then came back for 6 games and had a calf problem and was missing for another month. Came back for 3 games and didn't play for a month with an eye issue. Both his Harrogate loan spells were riddled with injuries too.

Of the 89 matchday squads he could have featured in for City (we signed him after playing 3 games in 23/24) he's been fit for 51. Unfortunately for the lad, he just had a knack of picking up random issues and has spent almost half his contracted time here watching from the stands. His stop start career really needs to get starting this season.

Funny how he’s not being labelled “ sicknote” on that record.? May explain further why he was only offered a 12 month contract and nobody had any interest in him, aka CC as recounted by some supporters ?

Every season he's had since moving to mens football, he's just been unfortunately injured a lot. And it's not like it's the same reoccurring thing until his shoulder went pop, it's lots of random other issues he finds. A bit like Jamie Walker for a lot of his career, he just seems to have some ability to find injury, just unlucky and will have the injury prone stamp on him for sure.

He's 24 in October and has only managed over 550 more minutes of mens football than Pointon has so far, and Bobby has had 2 seasons really in the first team? But even that first season he was in and out a lot whilst finding his feet, it was only really last season where Pointon started becoming a regular starter here.

He seems to have some bulk/upper body weight about him. I wonder if that is part of his injury issues? Anyway, im sure the City medical team know more than me!!

Do you think so? I honestly thought/ think he’s bit of a lightweight . Compared to Sarcevic, Kelly , Patto, Power he certainly doesn’t seem to be muscular?

Swansea bid of initial £4.5m for Wycombes Kone confirmed by Swans press, not been rejected yet. They have rejected bids from Preston and Toulouse. Surely he doesn't play against us on Saturday?

Yer, thats what I was thinking also. His upper body looks to have some mass to it.

Fair enough they all use weights to some extent in the WHG gym as part of the training routine , however if he’s bulked out compared to old then he must have been slim ?

Absolutely not. I haven't felt this excited for the start of a season in years!
