To be fair to cook our modified style of play doesn’t suit him he is a big lad but not a target man. He is an out and out goalscorer the way Hughes played suited him less running.
I think we would be better served with him playing off another striker

I enjoyed that game,
We were the better team throughout , poor errors for both goals in the only spell where they got on top.
Walker, Pointon, Halliday, Smallwood all had good games. Cook well marshalled by their centre halves, but should have done better with second half header. Osadebe should never pull on a city shirt again, lost the ball every time he received it ,including on the edge of our area for the second goal.
7 out of 10 from me, you could not tell which team was from the higher division and shows with a bit of organisation and leadership we can do well.

 

We were much better second half but the damage was done in the first half and glad to see Chapman back, he was a threat when he came on.

Good point but in those days even though I'm not allowed to say it now "it was a man's game". Bob would be off after 20 minutes in todays' game.

We didn't though. We were ok first half and unlucky to go in 2 down, as i mentioned earlier, twp poor goals especially the second. Second half we were the far better team and should have scored more than the one, which is a problem we need to sort.

Wycombe went in two goals up without breaking sweat. We looked ok passing in midfield but what did their defence and goalkeeper have to do in the first 45 mins.

They strolled through easy enough for me. Just knocked it about when they had it, finding space and easy overlaps. They threatened a goal a couple of mins before they scored when they cut us open and Lewis made the save.

We fronted up more second half and yes we did make them look more ordinary, but the game had gone by then.

 

Had a long weekend in a Milan for the Italian Grand Prix. Stunning City centre, First class trip to Verona on a High Speed Train and SiL took us to Lake Garda. Lovely place to live, but not in a City.
