I enjoyed the match and was entertained by what I was watching which is why I attend games.

 

It’s took two months , to be honest. Even trying to claim the medical bills back from the Gov was fruitless . Likewise Valetta , is not so flat , in fact everything is at the top or bottom of a hill and in 25+ degrees not fun. I had to give up and just spent the last 5 days more or less in the hotel. Not great for the wife!
Oh well we digress…get well soon Dave. Hope the three points makes it livable ?

 

His patter was painfully tedious when he was flavour of the month. I bet he's an utter bore and even more painful to listen to his 'zany' ramblings in the changing room.

 

Carlisle are a strange club, new owners who backed the club financially yet find themselves struggling at the bottom on the league. not that I want to see any club go out of the football league but I believe Swindon Towns fall from grace if the do get relegated they will be the first club to do that after at one time being a Premier League club ?.

 

Their fans already know it but they are well up schitt creek without a paddle and the canoe is now sinking.

 

We won the game but it was a laboured performance. All the kids playing with their phone torch wouldn't have happened if the game had been exciting to watch.
My man of the match was Huntington. I know Kavanagh got MOTM but aside from his goal quite an average performance, he ran his socks off and stretched the play but gave the ball away via a poor first touch so often. I thought his confidence would grow after the goal, but didn’t see a sign of it.
Shepherd and Richards also did well. Evans was so good and I was sorry to see him go off with an injury. I hope it isn't serious.
Smallwood drove me nuts and had a poor game I thought, lots of misplaced passes.
It didn’t feel we had won the match at full time.

 

Sarcevic is clearly not match fit, which is to be expected, but he showed some decent touches . I only saw the second half so can’t say anything about Evans in the first 45, but he was excellent for me before he got a knock.
Cookies touch deserted him mostly , but even so made a great chance for himself but couldn’t get the ball away.

Huntingdon and the back three were good against Smith, and the big units they brought on. I fully expected an ariel onslaught but it didn’t materialise to any extent . Goid to see Kav getting his confidence back bit by bit.

Pattison was missed today from what I could see?

Very much identical to our trip to Swindon last season. Horrible drive, forced into a bus lane and got a ticket, we played woeful and came away with nowt, and an equally vile drive back.

 

Your correct mate, the old grey matter not as good as it was ,I wasn't sure if they'd played in the old League One but they were one of the teams that formed the then new Premier League

You would thank and clap the team for getting relegated out of league 2. Sparkes and Rupp loves fans like you who lap up the shit being served up. Fans who will pump money into the club no matter what.

 

As said above, Oldham were the first but Swindon are in such a bad state it could be a while before they'd come back.

With Carlisle, it's alright having the big pockets but if you don't have the right people scouting and recruiting to a plan, what's the point? Greg Abbott has splurged far too much at that place.

 

Today's performance is the reason why I don't think we'll make the play offs. Yes, we seemed fairly solid at the back you can always concede from a set play, fluke, whatever.
We should have put the game to bed, beyond their reach but offensively we are not good enough. Yes, Kavanagh scored and he can cup his ears as much as he likes. But until he becomes physically stronger and improves his first touch, he won't improve enough. Also, Cook is usually our saviour but I can honestly say that that was probably his worse performance in a city shirt.

 

Smallwood was terrible. He completely stultifies us. He's the number one reason we create so little. Surely GA can see how we played with so much more freedom,creativity and pace when he wasn't in the team on Tuesday. Different circumstances for sure but Pattison driving forward with the ball created so much space for everyone else and made us a real threat. If Smallwood stays in the side for the rest of the season we've next to no chance of promotion.

 

I agree. Smallwood is a decent footballer but everything we do goes through him and it makes our attacking play so predictable
