Any worse or on a par with the Barrow debacle and the season would have been well and truly over using that game as a "yardstick" sets a pretty low bar to be fair, I agree we need a constant 2/3 in midfield excluding Smallwood however he seems to be as much an automatic starter as Cook and there's only GA who should answer to that, the tinkerman won't know his best starting 11 if he's still here in 2030
Pattison and Evans should be automatic starters but I would suggest in the current team aren't good enough to gain top 7 never mind maintain L1 status
Yesterday was no more than a "sticking plaster" treating the symptom rather than the problem and we all know where that lies

I watched the N / County highlights yesterday. One had to really wonder why they persist with the passing nonsense…. Platt as number 5 was pretty woeful seeing as you mentioned him. He had a hand in all three of Salfords goals .

County are in a poor run. Could be a good time to play them. Their fans are saying they are creating enough and rely on one forward to score the goals. Had to remind myself I was reading comments from their fans about their team and not our fans about us.

 

He did but in the few games he has played for us he has looked decent composed defending and good distribution

 

Got some better teams coming to VP in the near future. Whether we win them is another matter but we seemingly play better against footballing sides, rather than spoilers that then take us down to their level.
Derby away and Wycombe at home in the Efl Cup last season demonstrated this.

 

I think Swindon was a case of us playing the spoiler, at least in terms of entertainment.

Almost everyone else seems to enjoy a goalfest against them, but we scored a goal and shut up shop.

If we try to do that against actual decent sides, we will do so at our own peril.

He does. He’s played 1,000 games and managed 500. I don’t have a problem with his interviews - he talks a lot of sense and doesn’t lurch from one emotion to another.

if I read correct Benn was precautionary but didn’t see any mention of Evan’s.
