It was still the old Div 1 in 91/92 but Luton and Notts County dropped from top flight to non league even quicker.

Think Luton was around 18 years, probably a modern day record? They will hold it for going the other way too!!!

    Cold light of day
We scraped a 1-0 home win against the worst side I have seen for a long while (relegation favourites)
    It was painful to watch
We were "gifted" the winning goal by errors from both defender and keeper and some see this as a platform to take off for a top 7 finish, we were poor too, take out Pointon and Evans and it would have been a different story
The match was boring with very little to grab your attention I honestly think stick 11 scarecrows in a field dressed in claret and amber and some of our fans would clap them
Yes a wins a win but let's see how the rest of December pans out we have some proper promotion hopefuls to play who will show our weaknesses
Goes without saying am happy to be proved wrong

Our fans are so brainwashed into accepting mediocrity, that a drab 1-0 victory against an appalling side is something they think the rest of us should be waxing lyrical over.

Happy for the 3pts. But thats it. There are still problems.

City have the same problem winning or losing, not enough creative chances leading to attempts on target-
the winless run saw us lucky to get a shot on target in 45 minutes and the win against a dire team saw us manage just two attempts on target the whole game (both which might have come in the build up to the goal)
Defensively City are not leaking goals but if we can manage more than one goal do we get a public holiday in Bratfud?

Dire to watch, have no idea why our fans are so quiet during the game, seen more life in a morgue

Were there 15K+ in the ground yesterday? Looked quite sparse in lower kop on the highlights reel.

Exactly as I saw it. I really cannot get the remotest bit excited off the back of yesterday. They were shocking and frankly we were not that much better. As you say, had it not been for the gifted goal, it had drab 0-0 written all over it.
Under GA we struggle to score more than a goal a game, so we pretty much rely on our defence or a toothless opposition to get 3 points.
Much tougher opposition to come in the next couple of weeks. Win 2 or 3 of those and they will grab my interest but until then nothing has changed my view that we are mid table fodder.

Play like that against County, Vale and Chesterfield we will be lucky to grab a single point.

There is one player in that entire squad we can rely on a goal every 2-3 games. Said it time and time again but this club continues to ignore the striker situation. Goals win games, its e very simple concept but its a common theme and even goes beyond the Sparks era.

Our 5 strikers are collectively some of the worst I have ever seen. I feel guilty saying that when we have Cook.

Call me a simpleton but why couldn't we have the same team and approach as the Stockport game? Not rocket science or is it ???

A much needed win, but not sure how anyone could be excited about it. Huntington has definitely helped the defence though, he’s a big positive. Another is a good week for Kav, hopefully he can start to take the workload off Cook a little more.

First half played ok against another piss poor team that we almost matched them.

Second half... Did a Derek Adams and went defensive. GA is a *@?$

In all fairness I think Huntington and Evans have probably now earned extensions - im still not 100% convinced but rather others leave before them. I just hope the club doesnt spin it like 2 new signings in January. We still need at least another 3 or 4 in. And send 4 or 5 out.

It was certainly better than the Barrow game and we’ve seen improvement over the last 3 games. GA still doesn’t know his best 11 but is at least putting round pegs in round holes. Unfortunately in my opinion until we see a midfield constant 2 or 3, we’ll struggle for consistency and creativity. We seem to have the front 3 sorted (based on the current squad), the starting defence yesterday is the one I’d stick with, but the 2 in the middle I’d like to be Pattison and Evans. As we all know Smallwood won’t be dropped and GA has the excuse he needs to put Halliday in at right wingback.

There was a full on coming together between Benn and one of their players just in front of the North West Corner after about 35/40 minutes. They both went in at full pace. Didn’t give an inch. I think of the mystery man (Callum Johnson) who was, as l understand it, brought in as a right back. Given his history of injury, you really wonder if he could psychologically, commit to a similar level of performance?
