Unbelievably its 50 years this month that we hosted a FA Cup quarter final as a 4th division side against Southampton.

I remember dodging all the fighting on the kop and of course the only goal of the game which won the game for Southampton should arguably have been disallowed and the free kick retaken due to how it was taken.

Im sure quite a few of you on here were also there that day.

Was there, we were robbed, where’s VAR when you need it,
I obtained two tickets for the final from Bradford City behind the goal Stokes scored the only goal of the game against Manchester United.

Remember it well, as my dad decided not to get me a ticket, so he could go on the piss with the next door neighbour
After that i started sorted my own tickets. Got a Saturday job at my uncles cleaning cars.
    Extremely disappointed 12 year old

At one point in the game I climbed a small wall at the back of Bratfud End close to where the tea hut is now. It was covered in anti climb grease/paint and I got covered in it. However, I can see why, because if I’d have fallen down into Holywell Ash Lane, I wouldn’t be here 50 years later on to tell the tale. I eventually moved to the middle and was right behind McCalliogs free kick. Life moves on very quickly.

Stood down at the front of the main stand about where the free kick was taken but didn't realise the illegality of it at the time......

50 years! Can't believe it's so long ago. I was in the kop and some one got stabbed, there was so much trouble at football in those days

Bradford End, dead in line with the illegal free kick . As soon as he hit the ball it was a goal. The ref panicked, didn’t know the rules and just gave it.

It was like a non setting black tar ! Remember it well . They slopped it all over ( and broken bottles set in cement I kid you not) on all our “ free” reserves entry points ! ;)

My usual “free entry” point was over the kop perimeter wall and drop into the kop men’s bogs.

The last City match I attended before moving from Yorkshire to Scotland. Even from the Kop you could see we were robbed.

Yeah. I remember the rows of terrace houses up the back of the kop and think I may have had to go in the last house’s garden to get access to the wall. It was that long ago my memory is fading.

Ha. Just a small jump down over the wall that was used as a urinal for a young lad.
