You forgot yo add that summer is also beer garden season, for those that participate in that particular sport.

It’s bloody siling it down again in lower Baildon, and howling wind, so probably the same at VP. TBH, it would have been a pretty miserable sort of game if it had been played.

I did say, other sports, hobbies and interests, which would cover right arm exercise in a beer garden.

It’s almost like it’s a (relatively) new stadium, built on levelled ground, with excellent pitch drainage built in, isn’t it.
Isn’t this the first waterlogged pitch since (happy to be corrected)? But we’re still built into a hillside, with significant challenges deeper below the pitch surface.

Hudders don’t have those issues, because theirs is a relatively new purpose-built facility on the level, where modern drainage systems (and pitch) were built in from the start.

We’re having to use a ‘rip up and start again’ model given the age of our ground and its location. As far as I can see, we’d need to spend millions on our current site to get close to ‘perfect’ in terms of pitch/surroundings/drainage.

I’m struggling TBH with you seemingly thinking a few hundred grand was going to mean we never got a waterlogged pitch ever again vs a purpose built facility that is ‘new’ in football terms.

I think we will see more early calls on games and if there is a slight chance of a later call off they will start doing it early. Just look at the complaints the other night when Accrington game was called off at kick off as the ref gave it as long as possible to dry up.

dammed if they do and damned if they don’t

No comment, however Saturday afternoon is my domain when footy is on. Watching Swindon at mo. Dons battered them for first 30 . Goal, post, blatant pen waived away. Young blazed over from about 15 yards, cutting a lonely figure because he was up front on his own.
Swindon then brought on Austin and went to a 442 and playing a bit bitter.

Kemp their best player but knocked off the ball easily. Jake Reeves having a decent game for Dons.

I dislike Man Utd with a passion, how I enjoyed watching Bournemouth hand them their arses to them.

What on earth were Swindon doing. They tried either 3 or 4 centrebacks throughout the game . It made our first half performance at NC look decent and that was difficult for sure . Absolute kamikaze defence…..dire going forward too. I know I am not shy in coming forward but do you think Young looks any better? On that showing he would struggle getting in our side at the minute. In saying that his service was poor , but when he did get it…..!

    Am I exaggerating Dave?

Big clubs have fans who travel far and wide making it even more important that games do not get postponed.
When was last time a game at Elland Rd or Old Trafford was postponed???

Not a massive fan of speyside, infact Glenfiddich makes me sick. Much prefer Talisker, Highland Park & Laphroaig.
