I like Banks but he is a bit one dimensional he always cuts in instead of going on the=outside and getting a cross in. But I prefer the way we lined up yesterday than of late and three goals tells the tale

 

I think the question was if there was a foul or not I have looked at it a few times and can’t see one. It’s a good job the incident didn’t cost us points

 

We would have got an apology a few weeks down the line to make it o.k...!!

 

Wether it was over the line is a separate issue initially. However the ref clearly bottled the decision so gave an imaginary foul against the keeper when nobody actually touched him.

The ball over the line tech must cost peanuts….!

As to the ball entering the net.
Dave’s photo says no, because it’s “captured” in the wrong frame. In real time , on the highlight, it looks a foot over. !

 

That's how I saw it Steve, I'll try and get a better still but even looking at the picture I posted his leg looked over the line and the ball is partly hidden by his left knee.

 

From memory MH said it in an interview last week, “ Hes started training with the boys on grass” . I’m sure that’s what he said. Apologies if I’m wrong.

Well I'm getting on as you know @banktopbantam but even I heard the distasteful chants "Andy Cook is a sex offender" not the worst chant I heard but uncalled for shall we say, but he answered them in the best way possible sticking the ball in the back of the Grimsby net .

 

Outside of Banks end product I think he looked the most likely to create anything pre Darbyshire coming on just faded in and out too much and could do with working on his final decision making. Feels like he almost tries too hard.

Be interesting to see Fridays starting lineup. Hughes said yesterday Darbyshire isn’t fit enough to start. Wouldn’t be shocked to see Costelloe in alongside Cook, similar to Gillingham line up.

I seem to remember reading similar sorts of comments about Chapman from Burton and Blackburn fans when he signed for us. He's clearly got talent but when it comes to executing that talent successfully, he's fallen way short this season and by the sounds of it, in past seasons as well, apart from during his loan spell with Shrewsbury a couple of seasons ago where he did really well. I do wonder based on what Hughes has seen from him this season whether he'll be part of his plans going forward, or whether he'll be loaned out/moved on over the summer.

Calling the grey haired gentleman who was running the line inept, is really unfair on all the other useless lines people/ assistant refs. This guy was in a class of his own. I also thought the ref was pretty weak as well. The time wasting by Grimsby, was crazy, they were awarded corners and were doing rock ,paper , scissors to see who would take them and at 1 goal kick a defender actually kicked the ball to the corner flag and not towards the keeper, nothing said , yet we picked up the only booking for time wasting. Rideaugh i believe.

Again what a fantastic attendance, and more proof that the reasonable price ticketing works and if we do manage to get promoted, even more of a bargain.

Yes thats what most of us are hopeful for , should at least improve on this season .

The state of our other neighbours at Scunthorpe is dire ,relegation to NLN a foregone conclusion , and massive ownership problems -its looking more and more likely by the end of May the club goes sadly .

 

That's what it's all about mate, we may have our differences but when it comes to a situation like Scunthorpe, Bury and Wrexham in the past we all give our support as we know how we would feel if it was our club.

 

I will never understand why fans think it’s a good idea to windup the oppositions best player. Cook the sort of character to love sticking 2 fingers up to those kind of chants. Self defeating. We do it too. It’s nuts.
