Nothing more than a glorified training session. Fair play to Alexander for approaching the game with the usual professional approach.

We can't get rid of them though, they're the clubs that provide the prize money that makes it worthwhile entering for.

Was that the one where we were a few goals up and then we fell apart?

I know this game was against young players but I thought young Metcalfe stood out

Disappointed that there was over 4,000 there. We should still be boycotting this competition, especially matches against kids !

9 bookings in a match where there was no malicious challenges was ridiculous.

Can you imagine getting him in a feisty Yorkshire derby

I was disappointed there was ONLY 4000 there. It was £5 entry and £1 for kids.

Up to last year, I would have agreed with you but GA uses the competition to our advantage. Last night's team gave valuable minutes to players returning from injury plus others who have not been getting regular game time.

The yellow cards were given cheaply on both sides, poor reffing again ...

Byrne’s was fair enough. He had three goes at pulling the Everton lad back.

Don’t be silly Silver….It was an ideal game to get ex injured players back into game time and peripheral squad players more minutes other than behind closed doors 11v11.

His family would probably have been amongst the Everton support. That must have been harrowing.

The only one of ours you could possible argue against was Leigh's, the other 3 were all clear yellow cards. As you say Byrne had more than 1 pull at their players, Kelly clearly pulled their player back on a counter attack, Hilton brought a 2nd ball onto the pitch which stopped them taking a quick corner. Everton lost their heads a bit in the 2nd half with a yellow for dissent and the one with Leigh.
The one that you really could argue against was the one they got late on when Kelly 100% tried to take a quick free kick and under hit his pass then claimed he was passing it to Hilton.
