I hate them with an absolute passion.

Maybe living in a HD postcode plays a part.

Feels like we’ve played Town a lot more in my time supporting.

I agree that Leeds fans probably don’t give a shit and just laugh at the effort our fans put in to “hating” them.

 

If you couldn’t get stoked up for the Town games last year and had that Derby feeling then I’m not sure footballs your sport. It was nothing like playing a team we play every season like Rochdale or Oldham.

 

Agree with this. Weirdly though I think there is more hatred towards us from the Dogs than the other way round. Personally I have never been able to take them seriously as a club and for all that they've mostly been in a higher league in my 50+ years as a fan, I dont actually see them as a bigger club.
Biased perhaps but thats just how I feel. That said, the first 45 mins of the game at VP last season was sweet!!

 

This season due to us being in the same division there is more feeling to it but last season I thought both games lacked what I'd call that fierce rivalry I was expecting with it being the first time we'd played them in the league for years. I see more of an irrelevance more than anything, like the northern equivalent of Reading.

 

I notice that Zian Flemming is missing today in Burnley's match against the Baggies, due to injury. Let's hope it is nothing serious but enough to keep him out of the side until after Wednesday. He has been in good form for them.

 

We've got a chance if they play like they are doing today, they really dont like it in their faces and i think our press will cause all sorts of problems.

 

They gave enough of a shit when big Jim's header prompted the great unwashed hordes to start ripping out seats and trying to throw them towards the bottom of the Kop

 

I'm expecting them to make a lot of changes for Wednesday as they've got a long trip on Saturday like us and the league is the number 1 priority for them. Changes can work both ways especially when the 1st choice players are struggling but this is why I liked the draw when it was made as it's very winnable just like the Blackburn and Stoke games were last year. Their manager criticised them after the Notts County game in the 1st round for being too nice and it doesn't look like much has changed since.

They really are in dreadful form and it's carrying over from last season with them now on 2 wins in 90 minutes since last November and 1 of them was against Millwall reserves in the FA Cup, since the start of last season they've only won 6 in 90 minutes.

 

Aye. Two of my best friends are also Leeds fans, couldn’t text me quick enough when we lost to Millwall, Carlisle and Bolton in the playoffs. That’s the thing with rivalry, there’s not right or wrong it can be a person to person thing. I get up for playing Sunderland because my boss is a season ticket holder and they took Pickford back early and robbed 3 points off us at their place on Boxing Day.

 

That includes the 4,000 from Burnley ,so only 13,500 from us so far

See we have given Burnley another 1,000 tickets in t Dallas stand , sparks seems desperate to fill ground that’s 5,000 Burnley fans , come on city fans let’s at least have 16,000 home fans

Still I can honestly say I despise Town more than Leeds maybe the 1990s brought it to the boil.

 

Halfway through that 2004 game I knew we would go down City smashed them to bits there keeper had one hell of a game but you always knew that somehow Burnley would win it sadly

 

I remember the T&A used to report Burnley news on a daily basis and have match reports into at least the late nineties, I also remember being refused service in a chippy near Turf Moor for being a " Fu****g Bradford fan" after Andy Kiwomya's late winner on our charge to the play-offs in 96.

I went to school with some kids from past Keighley way and a couple were Burnley fans, it was always a game that had a little more to it in the 90's. Hull was another.
