This only happens when tickets are down to the last few hundred for a high profile game.
In those situations I think it’s fair to suspend online sales and ONLY sell to fans willing to make the effort to queue overnight

Burnley near enough sell out and we can only sell 7000 as it stands to season ticket holders.

They are going on general sale but still over 1k left according to what Burnley fans were telling me at lunchtime today. I would suggest that number will be lower now but still plenty left.

I expect a bit more with it still being school holidays as well, 18/19k especially if the Dingles sell out.

 

We get 19,000 for Peterborough, but for Burnley we might not get that amount at only a £5 entrance fee , why don’t people go to cup games anymore , ?

 

midweek is harder to get to for a lot of people due to work/family commitments. Those that live further away can not always get to VP

 

It is a shame. I enjoyed the Rochdale game. Sadly I’m away for Burnley but would loved to have been there and at a fiver it’s a steal.

But many of the people who find it so hard to get to VP for midweek games found it easy enough to get to Newcastle last season with many thousands more disappointed they couldn’t get a ticket.

 

The official attendance for the stockport game on a cold February night was 22,488 .

 

I completely agree. I just wish the club would communicate that aswell and then everyone would have the same opportunity.

Too many cups now.FA cup,Caraboo cup,Vertu trophy,and until the later rounds,most big clubs play weakened teams.It's the league at all costs now,with cup competitions secondary.

 

There will be lots of reasons why people aren't going e.g. work, holiday, travel. For others it will simply be a 2nd round tie at home against what will likely be Burnley reserves isn't that exciting.

I also suspect there will be some who were holding off until general sale to get seats together with friends/family then there will be others waiting before deciding if they can or want to go. I think sales will pick up over the next few days and more blocks becoming sold out or singles only

 

Same number of cups there’s always been outside the top flight.
